Chong Qing is more than just a restaurant to me—it’s a ritual. Every visit to Bandung now includes a stop (or two!) at Chong Qing because the experience is consistently exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and an atmosphere that balances comfort with high standards.

The food? Absolutely incredible. Authentic flavors, generous portions, and consistent quality every single time. Whether you’re dining in a group or alone, the menu always delivers something satisfying, and the pacing of service is just right—never rushed, never too slow.

But what truly makes Chong Qing stand out—and what keeps me coming back—is the service, which sets a gold standard in hospitality.

Mas Agung, in particular, is nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve now been here six times, and every single visit has been made better because of him. He is, without exaggeration, the best server I’ve ever encountered. Polite, attentive, genuinely kind, and always two steps ahead in anticipating needs—he remembers my preferences, offers helpful suggestions, and carries himself with a grace and warmth that makes the entire dining experience feel special.

He doesn’t just “do his job”—he elevates the whole experience. Seeing Mas Agung at Chong Qing feels like seeing a familiar friend who takes pride in making you feel welcome and taken care of. He is the kind of team member any restaurant would be lucky to have. I truly hope the management recognizes his dedication, because he is a big part of what makes Chong Qing such a beloved place for me.

Chong Qing Hot Pot, finally opened in Bandung, no need to go to Jakarta to try it. First time coming, the interior and experience are amazing, the inner court is also a winner. The combination of the typical interior of an old Chinese building along with the dry garden inner court makes it cozy haha. The lighting is also comfortable, warm white which makes it comfortable on the eyes. Additional artwork on the wall that makes the vibe even more pronounced. Kudos to Thufeil who made this interior works and artwork!

Talk about food, I tried the Mala soup, Chicken bone broth and Laksa soup. As for my taste, I can't stand eating Mala soup because it's really spicy. The safest choice is to order chicken bone broth and Laksa sauce. Laksa soup for those who want a bit tastier but not as extreme as Mala soup.

For meat choices, there are lots of them, I ordered a meat platter, karubi, and got free wagyu beef (minimum spending of 500 thousand), then some mixed seafood (shrimp, squid, scallops, and fish), mixed vegetables, and lobster (calculated per 100 gr).

For the choice of sauce, we can request that it be made by the waiters, or we can make it ourselves. For the sauce that is made, it's like using peanut sauce, so if something doesn't suit peanuts, you can mix the seasoning by yourself.

Talking about service, it's really top of the level, starting from valet parking, and front office, to waiters who help from ordering food to dishes came and made additional orders. thats really made a good job. It is also suitable for dinner with large families here because there are many large-capacity communal tables and private rooms.
