When you come to the restaurant, you can already smell the fragrant broth! Sign of good things to come.
I Ordered Pho Bo (beef) and Pho Ga (chicken), Guicon (one with shrimp & one with only chicken), Banh Mi Bo, and Coconut coffee for the drink.
Pho Bo (5/5) It is amazing. The broth is very beefy and you can smell all the herbs especially the cilantro that's already in the broth. They also put a generous amount of tender sliced beef that is flavored with five spices. The pho comes with a side dish that consist of 2 lemon wedges, slices of chilli, bean sprouts, and some herbs ( I think it's thai basil?). I mix all of them and add a dash of pho sauce that's available on the table which add a bit of sweetness and umami, almost like hoisin sauce. The tender beef, with crunchy sliced onion, zesty and pungent herbs, the soft noodle really mix well with the spectacular broth. It's really unique and something rare to find in Bandung.
-Pho Ga (4/5) The exact same with Pho Ga except it comes with a chicken broth that is lighter in colour and taste. And no beef, it comes with shredded chicken. A good alternative for someone who can't handle beef or may not like very beefy / strong flavour.
Banh Mi Bo (5/5) It is a vietnamese sandwich that comes with tender sliced beef (the same beef that comes in Pho Bo), pickled carrots and radishes, coriander, and some mayo with baguette as the bread. By itself it already tastes superb. The crispy and toasty baguette, with the tender beef, crunchy sweet and slightly sour veggies, and creamy mayo blends really well together. My favorite way: ask the server to sliced it in half and dip it into the Pho Bo broth before taking a bite! The bread will soak the flavorful broth and make the sandwich into a flavour bomb!
Gui Con (2,5 / 5) I don't really find the vietnamese spring roll as good as the other stuff. It doesn't taste well balanced, the chicken is dry, the shrimp is bland, so the flavour only comes from peanut sauce which tastes okay-ish. The rice paper itself is nice and chewy though. Might just be my personal taste.
Coconut Coffee (3,5 / 5) A solid cup of coffee. The coconut is very present. Tastes sweet, creamy, and very coconuty. Personally would like the coffee to be more present and a bit too sweet for me.
Initially order the tamarind drink but it sold out already. Such a shame because I think it'll taste better.
Very satisfied with the food and would definitely recommend. BUT, the place is small, with low lighting (on purpose maybe?), and VERY hot and steamy because they cook the noodle in front of the ruko. Wish they would add more fan or AC because the place isn't the most comfortable. Hot and steamy place with hot steamy...
Read moreI had tasted pho in Vietnam before. And the Pho's taste in Pho Ngon is very similar with the original in Vietnam. The pho presentation also same, which bring back the memory of the exotic Vietnam I knew before.
The only issue is the portion which is smaller than the original in Vietnam. Even Pho Ngon serves 2 portion in their menu (S and L), both portions are actually half portion from the original Pho in Vietnam. Maybe the owner adjust the portion to be fit with Indonesian.
If you are looking for authentic Pho's Taste, Pho Ngon is the best one. Besides Pho, they also served other dishes and drinks (Vietnamese style), and all of them are very authentic and have very similar taste with the original.
Price also reasonable and affordable.
All menus are halal.
I have been Pho Ngon for 3 times, and I will come again, and again, and again.... No doubt...
Read morePho nya enak 👍
Enak sih seger, tapi mungkin gak semua orang suka sama rasanya.
Terus pesen pho daging ayam, kuahnya kaldu ayam banget nyaris kaya ramen.
Terus parkiran luas, jadi gak pusing nyariin parkir.
Kalau dari segi harga, standar aja sih kayaknya hampir semua pho segituan lah, mungkin seorang makan bisa ngabisin sekitar 100 ribuan (kalau makan dua jenis makanan + minum).
Pelayanan juga oke,...
