We recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that not only satisfied our taste buds but also delighted our visual senses. This cozy and Instagrammable establishment proved to be a hidden gem worth raving about.
First and foremost, the food at this restaurant was simply superb. The Ochazuke, a traditional Japanese dish, had a close-to-authentic taste. Each bite was filled with the perfect balance of flavors and warmth, tasted just like a home-made.
We have been to this restaurant thrice over the last 2 years and our favorite has always been the Ochazuke. However, the true star of the show this time was the Laksa. This aromatic and flavorsome dish was hands down the best menu item we had the pleasure of ordering. From the moment the bowl arrived at our table, we were captivated by the vibrant colors and enticing aroma. The rich and creamy coconut curry broth was a perfect harmony of spices, and the combination of fresh ingredients created a symphony of taste that lingered long after the last spoonful (be careful not to accidentally bite into the chili in the curry because we believe they use “Cabai Rawit Jablay” and it was burning spicy!)
Another dish that caught our attention was the Escargot. While the snails themselves were cooked to perfection, we found the taste of garlic to be a bit overpowering. Despite this minor setback, the dish still had its merits, and the overall presentation and texture were commendable.
The Crab Rangoon was a simple yet delightful surprise. The crispy exterior gave way to a creamy and savory filling that was a true delight for the palate. This fusion of flavors left us wanting more and more with each bite.
The Lumpia Basah Salmon and Cheese Brulee Bomb were both very yummy indeed, but nothing out of this world.
My wife wanted a refreshing fruit-based drink with no added soda, and we believe Watermelon Coco Cooler was the only fruity drink without soda that they have (besides their infused water). The Watermelon Coco Cooler was yummy and refreshing. We hate old, sliced watermelon that has usually been kept too long in the chiller and smells like an old fridge. This one doesn’t have any smell and we can taste that they used fresh watermelon- the combination of Watermelon, Coconut Water, slices of Lemon and Selasih (basil seeds) go so well together. The syrup that they used was not overpowering at all. The sweetness is just perfect. Not too sweet at all.
The Brownies Regal Shake tasted just like any other good quality, creamy milkshake, but the plus point is that it wasn’t too sweet like the ones they serve in other restaurants. We liked this shake.
In addition to the exceptional food, the restaurant's cozy ambiance added to the overall experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel comfortable, while the aesthetically pleasing decor provided countless opportunities for Instagram-worthy snapshots.
The only minor critique I have is the overpowering taste of garlic in the escargot, and maybe a bit of sugar or Mirin should have been added into the Ochazuke to balance the saltiness. but considering the overall quality and variety of dishes, it didn't overshadow the outstanding dining experience.
Another plus for putting a photo box machine on the ground floor! What a perfect quick activity while waiting for our table and also a nice addition to our personal photo gallery to remember the day by. The price is Rp. 35k per photo box session and you get the printed and scanned photo right away (everything uses QR Code, so a working phone is needed).
All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking a yummy and cozy dining experience. With a warm ambiance and a dedication to flavor, this restaurant is a must-visit for any food...
Read moreIt was a nice dinning experience! I like the ambiance of the restaurant. Music is at a comfortable level in the background, not over powering. I ordered the Chicken Steak, very tasty with Black Pepper sauce. It was accompanied by side salad, grilled Mushrooms and French Fries. Tasted great, enjoyed it! Here is what I didn't like. My server Geary, did not ask me at any point how was my food. He never checked on me to see if I needed anything more. That's poor service, not excusable. I am not tipping my server when he has no time for me. The bigger issue I had was with the poor quality of the Terimesu. It tasted awful as if it had gone bad. I took two bites and informed Gary it's not good. He only apologized and refused to allow me to exchange for something else or remove it from my bill. I spent close to 200,000 for my meal. How cheap of the restaurant to not be considerate to a customer. I work hard to earn my money and I don't appreciate when I have been cheated! In the end this went from being a very good to very bad experience. Due to this pathetic experience I will never return! Got upset stomach upon returning to my hotel. I am confident that it was the cake. It tasted awful, as if it had gone bad. I informed Gary my server but I don't...
Read moreWe went to this place for brunch. It is a nice-looking establishment, albeit the interior is more suited for dinner. There is plenty of seating. The service was nice, we had no complaints. The price was great considering the type of establishment.
I expected the dishes to be better. We ordered the big breakfast, nasi goreng gormeteria, spaghetti aglio e olio, durian layer cake, hot tea, and iced Americano. The nasi goreng was nice, served with an omelet, two pieces of chicken satay, and a generous amount of pickles and crackers. The big breakfast was underwhelming; the mushrooms looked dry and the toast was three half-slices of plain white bread. The rest of the plate was just okay but nothing special. Portion-wise I was expecting bigger and more protein. The spaghetti aglio e olio was anything but authentic. We ordered "level 1" spicy but there were so many chillies. I believe they used bird's eye chillies. I understand locals like spice, but it was way too hot for an aglio e olio. The garlic was overcooked and gave the sauce a lot of bitterness. Unfortunately we did not take any pictures of this dish. The durian layer cake was nice. Strong, proper durian taste. Americano was okay. Generous portion of tea, which was...
