I am not sure if the other reviews are legit because our experience here is pretty horrible. Booked the restaurant for 30 people and to be honest, it was a huge joke. Told them I wanted ala carte so everyone can just order according to their preference when they’re there but they said it’s NOT possible because they are scared it’s gonna delay their other orders. That makes sense but I told them I’m not sure what to order so please recommend a favourite package so it’s more convenient for us. Chose a package and they STILL asked me to choose FROM the package. It’s just like choosing for everyone lol. They asked me to put deposit and I did. Seriously though, the amount of pestering is way too much annoyance a person can handle just to book a simple lunch.

Was giving them the benefit of the doubt as the reviews were not bad. Reached the restaurant and they put us outdoor. The inside was almost empty but all the food has been served outside. The roof was leaking and the water droplets from dirty roof were dropping to our food. Asked to change table, we were ignored. The place was hot, apparently they didn’t even turn on the fan the whole time we were there. The food was already on the table, but no plates, no rice no cutleries in sight. As the rice was not out yet, we asked if we could change the rice to other type, they said not possible as it has been pre-ordered. Then I told them, ok then go ahead, bring them out. BUT NO, the server just stared blankly, “So you want the rice?” And I was like… bro??? You told us it’s not possible to change the menu so why are you still asking?

But ok, after that, no server in sight. No one to bring us plates and cutleries. My family went to look for some and we served them ourselves. The plates and cutleries were FILTHY. So filthy. There were flies everywhere. Food was decent but everytime we asked for anything, it took so bloody forever. We asked for mineral water and they took forever to come. We cancelled the orders that didn’t come as we were leaving. Told a server who was sitting around and she said ok. But when I went to settle the bill apparently they just prepared the coconuts. it’s either the server didn’t communicate at all with the kitchen or the kitchen doesn’t care about the instruction at all. Either way, a very disappointing place to start our family trip. This is EMBARRASSING. OH and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. All the servers were crowding near the kitchen, not serving the guests. It’s a...

Bandung is the capital of Sunda and therefore there is a huge choice of Sundanese restaurants available. Pavilion Sunda promised much but delivered little that was not available in more sympathetic and relaxing surroundings at a better price.

The day we chose to visit they were not accepting bookings, so we were asked to register on arrival and wait for an available table. The queueing system was a little haphazard, with limited space to wait and therefore crowds of people .left milling around the entrance waiting for their name to be called. It was all the more confusing because there were more empty tables than occupied tables in the dining room, which somehow never became filled.

Finally, after 20 minutes or so, we were assigned a table. We then had to go to what looked like a buffet to choose and order our food. It was a stressful and chaotic process. However even that was eventually sorted and we went to settle in at our table and wait the delivery of our order.

To be fair it was not a long wait, but once it arrived, it transpires there was a mix-up with th e number of portions of rice. More rice was ordered, but failed to arrive. Normally, in almost any restaurant in Indonesia, rice is instantly available in copious quantities, but apparently not at Pavilion Sunda. It took 3 reminders before the missing rice appeared by which time half our party had finished eating, while the other half had not yet started.

There are better Sundanese restaurants available. Try Dago Panyawangan instead, you'll have a much richer experience.

PS I am not sponsored or affiliated in any way with Dago Panyawangan. It is simply my long time favourite which has never yet...

My first moment of truth in this restaurant was very poor. There was a waitress named WINA, she was very impolite. I was there with friend. This was our first time and we are not a local people, so it's normal if we have no idea about some foods. We were eager to try, but when we asked, WINA (see my picture, I took her picture) answered with angry face. And when I order food, I asked her to choose bigger size, she just answered with high tone, everything is the same size! But we looked by ourselves there are some sizes. Then I asked, "if I buy fried vegetable behind, can you make it warm?" And I didn't even finish my question, she said, "it is fried vegetable!" With high tone. Then I said, "see, please listen to my question first, don't interrupt customer. I didnt ask what is that. i asked can you make it warm." She didn't answer, instead she turn her back on me. After that, a lady named INDRI cover her, and explain many products nicely to us, so we are willing to try what she's offering, such as twin monster, cireng, etc. Indri helped the day, because of her, we are willing to stay and continue purchasing. I hope WINA received proper training. Otherwise she doesn't deserve working in this industry, where service is very important. I rated her service as -10. But the recovery service by INDRI and HARIS (who apologize about bad service delivered by WINA), makes me give more stars. Management is lucky to have employees like INDRI and HARIS. But management made a wrong decision yo hire someone like WINA. About food I cannot review well. I tasted everything is so so. Maybe because of WINA, I cannot enjoy...

Bandung always held a special place in my heart. I and family really happy to visit Bandung for the weekend. And this time, we do try many places. First stop goes to Paviliun Sunda. As usual, I ordered bunch of dishes. Let me introduces it all to you guys. I ordered Udang Bakar Madu (Honey Grilled Shrimps), Nila Goreng (Fried Tilapia, you can choose between fried / grilled for this dish), Ayam Bakar Ala Paviliun (Paviliun Style Grilled Chicken), Tahu Goreng (Fried Tofu), Tempe Mendoan (Fried Tempe in Seasoned Flour Batter), Gepuk (Sweet Fried Beef), Sop Buntut (Oxtail Soup) and Nasi Pepes Bakar (Grilled Pepes Rice). Overall, i'm pretty satisfied with all the dishes, only their Nila Goreng (Fried Tilapia) is really smells fishy and not fresh at all, this dish totally ruin my meal at Paviliun Sunda 😭. Overall, for Paviliun Sunda, i'm gonna rate them 3 out of 5. For more info about foods, kindly visit asmunchkin on IG.

The place is quite nice and beautiful. I like the way they put the bamboo lantern lights on the ceiling, it gives the sophisticated feeling to the place. Food is quite nice and they have plenty of choices. I feel the food is very fresh, something I'm very skeptical about restaurants with pre-cooked food. The bebek bakar is exceptionally good, and the humble fried tofu is super soft and tasty. The ovals are ok but nothing special. Price is quite decent, not too expensive but also not cheap. The only complaint I have is they put lots of distancing signs but don't really enforce it and quite happily pack more customers as many as they can. Perhaps I have to come back a few more times just to try out 25% of their menu listing, which I think I might.
