Went with wifey here to check out this cafe coined as the Santorini of Batam. Went thru rugged terrain to get here.
Went in, and there is a ticket to purchase for entry per person. It's at Rp25k ea. And with that ticket or coupon, one gets a free bottled mineral water.
We went there during post lunch period at about 2 pm plus. It was hot and as per the pictures posted, was a ghost town. All activities were not open yet. Probably should have come by in the evening i guess.
Anyways took some shots, looked around and went in to dine. Place was 99% empty. Had just a couple at a table. we sat down as well and ordered a chicken burger for my wife and an Ayam bakar/fried penyet rice for myself. Wifey took the 'free' mineral bottle. it was almost the size or a 'Yakult' bottle. filmy bottle material. One sip of the water and we stopped. It had a taste and smell that was unfamiliar, so for safety reasons we throw then away.
Food arrived and it was a real shock. The ayam penyet chicken was the size of my thumb (the wing). I asked the waiter if this is for real and if this is the size served? he replied in the positive. I compared this to the same dish from my hotel at Aston. Hugh diff in plate and chic size and taste as well. My wife's chicken burger was a bun with shredded chicken and veg fillings. The worst dinning exp we had in a restaurant in Batam .The food did not taste good. A number of tables were not cleared. The staff just wipes it down onto the floor. Also be careful of how you interpret the menu items. The English can be read differently (exp: we saw 'Tahu fried in tapioca flour'. what we got was fried tapioca filling inside tahu skin)
Saw some tour group settling in as well and soon realized, this place may be for all the tour groups. We paid and left. So in a nutshell, this place is not worth its hype! WE probably could have gotten a better meal at a 'Warong by the longkang'. In fact Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal's Warong Penyet food is way better, cheaper and tastier by miles.
The only positive outcome we had from coming here, was its neighboring shop that sells tees and does prints. Shop name is styled...

very bad service. visited on 18/10/2025 with my bf. ordered 2 dishes at 2.40pm and that took over 40mins to arrive at our table at 3.22pm. waiters served several big groups that arrived after us their their main dishes first. even after they were all finished with their meal, ours have yet to arrived. we kindly enquired about our order 2 times from 2 older workers but received lukewarm response each time. and found out that kitchen has yet to start preparing our food 30mins in. waiters did not actually inform kitchen to start preparing our order each time we enquired. only when we asked the third time, a younger waiter was more helpful and instantly rushed into kitchen to help us get our food prepared. younger worker apologised a lot while the two older workers did not take responsibility for their bad service. food was not good too. chicken pop was ok but the nachos came with a weird sauce and...
