So far, the foods are amazing, and you have to spend at least $8 or like $10 to get Biriyani or the other rice things. If you're looking for middle east foods, Abunawas comes on my mind for the first place. One plate can accommodate you for 2 people (my opnion).
But, if you have plan to come around Weekends especially for your dinner, better you have to made a booking in advance and try to call all the time to get in touch with them. If you"re not make any booking, you have to waiting about 20 minutes until the waitress comes to you and will ask you "did you have any booking already" or "do you ready for your order?" how come we can order if we are not have any table and no waitress or waiter accompany us in the entrance.
This restaurant has 3 floor in total. If you wanna lunch or dinner on the chair or table or sofas, the 1st floor will recommend. But, if you want to try sitting on the carpet, second floor is nice choices. On the second floor you can see the "private" room with curtain between room (So you can still hear the voices the guest beside you, especially if you wanna enjoy your lunch or dinner, but besides you there is a group meeting, like what happen with us). There is nothing on the 3rd floor but nice view for you if you want to enjoy the night view from the top building, yeah you can say that is a rooftop.
Once you eat the foods and enjoy your beverages, all is worth it! But stand still, no staff to welcoming us, and you have to waiting cause they said crowded yeah we know, but please greet us and tell to us that you in busy time, at least accompany us then like the other restaurants...
Read moreVery very disappointed with this place. It holds a big name and has an amazing looking building, however, the service was concerningly bad. We had made a reservation before we went in and they advised that they were out of rice. Rice should be so easy to source and make so it was odd that they would be sold out however, we said we would go anyway to experience the hype everyone has about this place. Once we got there, firstly our table was overrun with ants. An unbelievable amount of ants however, we didn't make too much of a fuss. We immediately called the waiter to place our order. We started to go through the menu requesting certain items. Literally 75 percent of the menu was not available. All the family packages were unavailable. Majority of cold and hot mezze was unavailable. All plates that involve rice were unavailable. The simplest things like salads were not even available. There was literally nothing left. It was embarrassing. How can a restaurant have so little options out of such an expansive and 'show off' menu. The name Abunawas has a strong historical meaning amongst middle eastern countries. It's a shame this restaurant has taken the name. As there were basically no options, we decided to leave the restraunt and go somewhere else. What a waste of an hour travel, dragging my entire family with me in the heat for such a concerning...
Read moreAbunawas exceeded expectations.
We’ve been searching for a middle eastern restaurant in Bali and was concerned about the quality of food we would get. If the restaurant would be a hack that sells a theme but lacking in taste. This is not the case with this restaurant.
Abunawas delivers on theme and taste. The exterior design and interior accessories has unmistakable style. The place is very large, 3 floors of dining with 2 floors currently open. Parking is large and on premise.
Menu is extensive but focused. You won’t find nasi goreng or mie goreng to accommodate people not looking for a culinary experience, you could choose a different dish instead.
Salads, appetizers, mains, even show pieces such as a gigantic kebab is available. You could easily accommodate anything between an intimate dinner or a premium event with the menu. The menu book is well designed, well printed, not overly thick, it’s something that you would be please to give to guest if you have an event here.
Food is tasty, all of the item we ordered are well cooked, grilled meats are tender, the mandhi rice is delicious enough to be eaten on its own, the lamb doesn’t smell. The honey-date juice can be extra sweet, but the title says it all.
We left satisfied. We had a group of six adults and the meal...
