We have been in Bali almost two weeks now, and have eaten in multiple hotel restaurants and independent restaurants and this restaurant has the best food and service compared to the others. We even went here twice for dinner and once for coffee and dessert as the food is delicious. The price was also reasonable. There were 5 of us and we took entree, main courses and dessert plus à bottle of wine, the total was 2,6 - 2,8 million IDR which was ok. Hats off to the chef, everything was sublime, especially the beef tataki and tuna carpaccio. Even their pasta is good and was cooked al dente, and my partner is Italian and is very particular when it comes to his pasta. The manager, à woman who I forgot the name, was very nice, friendly and accommodating. Knows about wines and recommended us a nice Californian cabernet savignon that was not overpriced, with a proper cork (none of the screwed bottle wine nonsense like in so many other places) with a reasonable price (51 eur). Their food is comparable to nice and expensive restaurants in Europe where we came from, and I don't generously leave good reviews as in very picky about food, being a foodie and chef myself. But we will definitely be back here next year as the food is delish and the service is excellent. Try it, you won't be...
Read moreThis is a belated review... Didn't really wanna put it here but thought I'd spare a moment to share my conflicting experience. Food was OK, view is excellent!
The 2 star is for the rude service received from the manager some times ago. We were still having a last sip of our drinks, and was relaxing & contemplating whether to order something else or not. Suddenly the manager (who saw our glass was almost empty) then ask us point blank whether we wanna put another order or we wanna pay the bill directly? Soon as I say "not really sure yet", he said ok I will get the bill for you. My kids were still finishing up their drinks and he basically wanna kick us out directly! We had to make room for a family, so we grab the glass and sit on the wooden floor facing the ocean instead (which is fine coz we can still enjoy the view from the deck, but I just dislike the lack of manner from the manager). Could've wait a bit longer before pushing us out of our chair, that was...
Read moreIf you dine at this restaurant, make sure to carefully check your receipt. We ordered and drank 5 bottles of beer, but the bill showed 7 bottles. While this was clearly a staff error and something we could laugh off, there was a more serious issue.
They charged regular still mineral water at a higher price than sparkling water — even more expensive than flavored sparkling drinks like lychee sparkling water. And they insisted that this was correct.
In all my dining experience, I’ve never seen a restaurant where plain bottled water is more expensive than flavored sparkling water.
What’s worse, the mineral water they served us wasn’t even listed on the menu — neither the name nor the price. When I pointed this out, the staff simply kept repeating that it’s “hotel policy” and that they had nothing to do with it.
Frankly, this is the only restaurant I’ve ever encountered that makes up such unreasonable excuses. It’s hard to believe such dishonesty exists in a...
