We used to come to Bennos all the time. Upon return from our COVID induced hiatus we were keen to come again. It now seems to have changed hands and gone upmarket, now calling themselves Moreno Bennos. Looks more upmarket, but now with a much more limited menu. You would think that with a limited menus things would be quicker. However, our meals trickled out over the course of about an hour, with my meal being about 20 mins after the second last meal. This is despite me questioning where it was, and it only being a chicken sandwich. When my meal finally did arrive, the chicken looked like the deli sliced chicken you find in supermarkets, with a small, squashed foccacia roll , plus stall potato crisps ( I have expected Fries) This meal was also at a similar price to what I would get in Australia. This used to be a "go to" venue for relaxed casual dining - not anymore.
It has now been sold, refurbished and caters to a more upmarket clientele. Less on the menu at much higher prices.
I visited during the refurbing stage and all the original staff were there assisting and so excited about the future. Unfortunately, nearly all of the old staff have been replaced. So sad for them.
This more upmarket approach to the Sanur beachfront is becoming ever more prevalent and in my opinion to the detriment of the Bali experience.

Menu is not family friendly and none of the Bennos charm remains.
Gone are the famous family friendly menu and now replaced with what they call Mediterranean cuisine.
Service and staff were amazing
Unfortunately I will not be returning
Bennos menu had Indonesian and Aussie goods that were the best.
Call me uncultured but some of the items and ingredients are alien.
So disappointed... don't if you expect same as bennos as polar...
