‌ THE GUYS COOKING THE FOOD SMOKE CIGARETTES WHILST COOKING IT!!!! Seriously guys, Cmon! You can’t not smoke for a bit whilst cooking FOOD that people have paid for? đŸ«„ Went here after hearing everyone say how good it is. My husband and I shared a 200k rupiah 2 person seafood plate, and also a King Prawn plate. For drinks we had an iced tea and a lime water. đŸ‘‰đŸ»Firstly the drinks were so sweet I had to go down to the mini mart and buy a tonic water to mix them with, they were undrinkable otherwise. Secondly- 👀 YUK, my tall plastic glass had a CIGARETTE BURN ON THE RIM!! *see the photos! So I had to get another cup to drink out of. If a plastic cup has a cigarette burn on the rim which people drink out of, wouldn’t you throw it away!?? đŸ‘‰đŸ» THE FOOD-. Look, to be fair, I’m an Aussie, from North QLD, so I’ve eaten fresh seafood my whole life. Some of the best was fresh caught fish just thrown onto a fire and eaten like that..so I’m not comparing this food to high quality western restaurants
The food was ok. The calamari was so undercooked and wet we didn’t eat it, the Ikan Bakar wasn’t crispy, and was so bony it was hard to eat. You’d have a small bite and there are so many bones you have a mouthful of half bones and half fish. It tasted fine though
The prawns in the seafood platter tasted fine, they’re quite small though so you have to peel the shell off of them even though they’ve been butterflied open to grill. The scallops were fine too. đŸ‘‰đŸ» The King Prawns were really tasty, and great with the rice. I wish we had of just bought a few plates of these instead. 😬 So all up-the famous seafood was ok. Nothing to write home about, and we won’t eat there again. ESP after seeing the food being cooked by guys smoking cigarettes while cooking!! 🧑‍🍳 😩 HYGEINE-if you eat here, before you order food, take 5 mins to watch the guys cooking the food; you’ll see them smoking and cooking. It’s also been noted in another review that they do this. I know it’s Bali, and there’s a huge smoking scene in Indo, but smoking whilst cooking food is dirty and unacceptable.

Seafood here is very fresh and at very affordable prices. We had the seafood platter for 1 pax and the grilled calamari. Loved the sambal they provided to pair with our food, not very spicy. However we forgot to specify how we wanted the calamari done so I guess they gave us the default? My only issue with this place is the flies, felt like we were constantly fighting off flies while eating. We came on a Sunday evening, the atmosphere was quite lively. We got to sit on the sand and had a very good view of the sea. It’s a little chaotic but the service staff could speak English. The clientele is a mix of locals and tourists. The location is a little hard to get to by car as they close off the road leading to it. Either way, we will definitely be coming back here.

First nite in Bali and checked this place out online as not far from my accommodation. I like a bit of local food especially seafood. Went from a real fancy modern restaurant and bar after a few cocktails to this Balinese gem. Plastic chairs and umbrellas on the sand . Choose your own adventure of seafood dishes including lobster octopus scallops and multiple fish types . All of these delights were offered in a variety of ways to be cooked on their very basic homemade grill but turned out a treat . If you’re looking for a good but basic seafood dinner this is your happy place . Very reasonable prices all done in a very basic but good Balinese style open restaurant

I visited Bali last May and had really wanted to try this restaurant based on the great reviews but couldn’t find the time. So this trip, it was at the top of my list. You can imagine my disappointment when I arrived to find a dirty beachside seating area covered with a patchwork of tarps, plastic chairs, and completely uninterested staff.

Still, I held out hope that the food would make up for it—how wrong I was! We ordered the Grilled Prawns with steamed rice ($7) and the seafood rice ($9). I understand you get what you pay for, but calling it terrible would be an understatement. The prawns were so overcooked they tasted of the oil used to start the fire they were cooked on. The seafood rice wasn’t as bad, except for the fact that the “seafood” consisted mostly of large pieces of rubbery squid and prawn heads.

The final straw? The two guys cooking in the kitchen (I refuse to call them chefs) were smoking while cooking. I have been a professional chef for 40 years, and no matter what country you’re in, food safety standards exist—this is completely unacceptable. This place should be shut down.

My advice? Give it a miss. There are far better places to eat in Bali, and don’t believe all the...

AMPHIBIA ? Was recommended by a friend to meet her by 6:30pm at that café - located on Jl. Pantai Sindhu SANUR Beach. Great location: right by the sea side, tables set on the beach, feet on the sand
I dressed myself nicely, arrived a few minutes earlier and noticed that the “style” of the cafĂ© was made of disassembled chairs and tables, cheapy and oldish. Both table and floor were quite dirty with used tissues, plastic glasses, old papers and else. The waitress gave a quick wipe to the table yet the rest staid there. As she asked what was my order i said “Please give me a few minutes, am waiting for my girl-friend” Ten minutes later the “Boss” himself came, almost shouting at me: “So what are you drinking..?..!” I repeated what i told the waitress. “You order now or you leave. We don’t need people like you” he turned away and went back to sit on his chair. I felt uncomfortable with such treatment, as you can imagine. I just took my bag and left
Never happened to me before. Got a 4,5 star on Tripadvisor? Must have been when he was in a good mood
;-/ As to me? Would certainly NOT recommend the place. Definitely lost me...
