I had so much good food and time at Malaika Secret Home. I even spent all three days in Bali, going to this place every day and spending hours just eating whole foods and enjoying the serene view.
Malaika Secret Home also has fine dining for dinner, and it is also amazing and tasty. The view at night is a whole other experience. It's cozy, romantic, rustic, and beautiful. It is suitable not only for date nights but also friend and family gatherings. But reservations are needed, so make sure to book with them first.
Here are some of the food and drinks my mom and I tried, which we absolutely love and repeated ordering.
Coconut Coffee We really enjoyed the coconut coffee because it uses coconut nectar as its sweetener, which makes the coffee light and does not leave that sticky feeling in your mouth (like if you use sugar or simple syrup.)
Black Tea Kombucha The kombucha is just stunning, full of flavour, and tastes just like a soda (but way healthier, obviously.) It's not too sweet, and since it's a probiotic, it helps your gut health!
Coconut and Pumpkin Bread Since my mom and I are bread maniacs, we are so astonished and happy that there are gluten-free breads that taste like regular bread; even better, actually. The breads are just so soft, light and fluffy. Make sure to ask for butter and sea salt. Trust me, it will taste heavenly.
Watermelon I forgot the complete name, but you can refer to the picture attached here. It is like a slice of Indonesian summer because it is very refreshing. The cheese and some spices on top of the watermelon make it unique and create a contrasting flavour which just explodes in your mouth. It is delicious!
Cakes You MUST try their various types of cakes because they are phenomenal. My favourites are the key lime pie and dark chocolate cheesecake. The key lime pie has a perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Also, the crust adds texture and cohesion to the whole thing.
In sum, you MUST visit Malaika Secret Home when visiting Bali. Trust me, you will not regret it!
Thank you Malaika for the unforgettable...

We stayed in Sanur for 1 week and lucky to find this shining star during our stay while searching for an 'Indian Restaurant'. Our food angels must have been looking out for us. Our heart sank when we were asked if we had a reservation on arriving at this spectacular place, because we had built ourselves up for an amazing meal after reading some earlier reviews. Thankfully they offered us a place on the communal table to have our dinner, which we happily accepted. Walking into the awesome dining space was exhilarating and building us up even more for an amazing experience. We were told that there is no menu as all dishes are a surprise appearance and Vegetarians are happily catered for, building up our expectations even more. The table layout was exquisite.
The first course in the form of a watermelon with a coconut cheesecake, a mint chutney and carrot caviar was pure theatre and tasted phenomenal. This was followed by gorgeous vegetable gyozas with accompanying soy and chilli sauces, exhilarating papaya salad, unusual but tasteful sweet potato gnocchi followed by a supreme main course of fermented & cooked cassava dough, fried lupin seed flour bread (like puris), pumpkin curry, asparagus with a green sauce of coriander & other flavours. How thrilling!
This was followed by sugar free desserts to die for - a peanut butter and a blueberry cheesecake.
When so much care goes into producing gluten free, sugar free and reduced starch dishes like these, this gem of a restaurant with a hands-on owner/chef deserves a higher platform. We both loved every aspect of that evening spent...
