McDonald’s Sanur is definitely one of the better McD branches I’ve visited in Bali. Whether you’re a tourist craving something familiar or a local looking for a quick bite, this place delivers on both convenience and comfort.
First off, the location is great — easy to find on Bypass Ngurah Rai, with ample parking space. The building itself is spacious and clean, with two floors and plenty of seating. I love that they’ve made the upper floor smoke-free, so it’s nice for families or anyone who just wants a quiet place to eat or work. The air conditioning was cool and refreshing, especially on a hot Bali afternoon.
The service was pretty efficient. I ordered using the self-order machine near the entrance, which is a nice touch for tech-savvy customers, though I did notice a few tourists struggling a bit with the interface. The staff were friendly and quick to assist when needed, even if their English was basic. My order came out within 10 minutes, and everything was hot and fresh.
What makes this McD a bit special is the local twist on the menu. Besides the usual favorites like Big Macs and fries, they also serve ayam goreng (spicy fried chicken), nasi uduk, and sometimes even bubur ayam in the morning. I tried the spicy fried chicken set with rice, and it was honestly better than I expected — crispy, juicy, and with just the right amount of heat.
They also had seasonal drinks and desserts like the Avocado McFlurry and Leci Tea, which felt perfect for Bali’s tropical vibe. A nice change from the usual!
There’s also a small kids’ play area and even a few seats shaped like Happy Meal characters, which adds a fun touch if you’re visiting with children. The place was clean and well-maintained, including the bathrooms, which I think is a big plus.
Overall, McDonald’s Sanur is a reliable and pleasant spot for a quick meal. It’s not just a fast-food stop — it’s a comfortable place to rest, recharge, and enjoy familiar food with a local twist. I’ll...
Read moreWas disappointed by the service of one of the crews. I asked her if it was possible to pick the chicken part (between thigh/breast), I’d like to pick thigh. She said they gave it random, and I asked why? Because in online order, drive thru, and usually when I dine in you can choose which the part. And she was not confident in answering the reason, and she said I can’t pick because everybody else has already picked their options. I assume she meant it’s hard to arrange my request and will be served based on what left from what everybody else has picked. I asked her, that I am also a customer so why couldn’t I pick like everybody else she mentioned? She couldn’t respond anymore and asked to take my bill. And unfortunately, in the end my request wasn’t accommodated. And it is just not professional given with her answers reflecting there is a different treatment among customers, and I could see how she also treated foreigners and local customers differently. It could be different and more acceptable, if her explanation would be something like it was a peak-hour/crowded, instead of saying that “because others have picked,...
Read moreI think the girl serving me was mentally retarded. I placed my order and rather than repeat it back to me and type it into the register, she tells me I have to pay tax on it. Who cares? Just tell me how much I owe. She acted like tax was going to stop me from wanting it. That's weird. Then I had to repeat the order again and point to it on the menu. After opening up the take out bag, I saw she gave me rice instead of the fries I ordered. So I had to go back in line and wait again just to tell her I'd like what I ordered and she had to have a big discussion with her manager over this. Like as if this was so complicated. Then after opening up the next bag I see she gave me no straw for my drink and no napkins. There was no stand to pick them up yourself. Back I went for more waiting until I got them. This idiot somehow made 4 mistakes on one very simple combo order that had no substitutions in it. F##k her! The spicy Ayam chicken was great though. It tasted like Popeye's spicy chicken which I love back in North America. Wish they had that chicken in...
