MD Warung Indian Food — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

This is our first trip to MD this year have come many times before in previous visits to Bali. This time it is not the same. Maybe new owners , definitely staff I had not seen before. And were nit real interested. I went to order my entrees, the same starter I've had for at least the last 5 years, shrimp nests and Money bags only to be told " not have" and then given a choice of only a few other items off the pretty extensive Dim Sum menu. The rest, "not have". My wife asked for a slight change in sauce to the crispy chicken, which is just crumb chicken. Instead of the Lomon sauce she asked could it be black pepper sauce. Which was on several other dishes. So the change was minimal. Just swap over sauces. But was told " could not do " . Very disappointed with a venue I've come to love over all these years and have always returned multiple times each holiday. But tonight left a hole and I would be hesitant to return....

MD Warung is definitely one of my favourite places in Sanur. Their food is just excellent and their home made curries (more than 40 !!!) to choose from are all simply superdelicious, probaly one of the best on the entire island, and you decide on the level of spicyness. I tried many of them but my favourites are still the Beef Rendang, Chicken& Beef Madras Curry, Butter Chicken Masala Curry and Lentil Dhal Curry with Raita Bread ! For the starters, Money Bags and Wantan are always an excellent choice too. Basically any dish there is great !

The place is neat and tidy, the open kitchen clean and on top of that, the staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Also good for take away in solid packiging. What else to say..... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and don't miss it out.

Sensational. I know my review is going to be edited later as it was my first visit but can’t wait to go again to share my review. Food was outstanding. Veg samosas and lentil curry. Best samosas I’ve had in my life and I pride myself in my own homemade Dahl but WOW! Will devour the whole menu in the coming months. Without doubt. A joy to chat with local neighbours. It was the best evening of my week. Fabulous salad, samosas and the Kamala curry was great. Excellent nasi Goreng and the burger is great too. (I’ve been back many times since the first review - didn’t eat it all at once!) Arrived at 6, tables filled up. I will be sure to arrive early again to not miss out.
