WARNING WARNING WARNING We had expected a nice dinner experience after reading all of these reviews but were left feeling like we had just been kicked in the stomach There was a pack of dogs that would not leave the outdoor dining area begging for food and barking at everyone who passed by, the staff would be patting them and enticing them to stay around, it only gets worse from here. We ordered a green curry and “400g” pork ribs with leek, we were extremely disappointed and unimpressed when the food arrived to the table, we were served 4 very small ribs with a small sprinkle of green onion on top as a garnish and NO MORE, they were dry as the desert and had no flavour. We immediately brought this up with the staff that we were not happy and wanted to send them back and exchange for another dish, initially they were kind and polite stating they could not do that, we then said we would just leave all of the food as that was not what we had ordered they then said we would receive a generous discount. The green curry lacked in flavour and spice even after asking for it to be made extra spicy, I had to get them to bring 3 extra serving of chilli to bring it to a mild spice. We received no napkins to help stay clean whilst eating the ribs. After finishing the meals reluctantly we got the bill to find a “generous discount” of 1,500R, I repeat 1,500R, we questioned this further and were met with a large amount of animosity being told “we are the best restaurant on the beach you shouldn’t expect anything”, “this must be your first time here this is how it is”, we have been coming to Bali for 2-6 months a year for the past 9 years, we have never experienced something like this. Throughout our dining experience we were never asked if we wanted more drinks or any more food, we sat for 15 minutes at the empty dining area without the table being cleared or asking if we would like to order anything else. For somewhere with some of the higher prices in Sanur and a 17% service charge the service was downright shocking and disappointing. Me and my partner are both very relaxed and easy going people who have almost never sent back food in our whole lives. I would only recommend you eat or drink here if you want a bland and insufficient meal and some of the worst service in all of Bali surrounding by mangy begging dogs. Find anywhere else in Sanur and you will be happier with...
Read moreWarung Ñelayan in Sanur is an absolute gem, located right on the beach with a stunning terrace offering breathtaking views of the ocean. The setting is simply idyllic, perfect for a relaxing day by the sea. The restaurant is well-maintained, and the staff are impeccably dressed in uniforms, adding a touch of elegance to the overall experience. They are extremely friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
The food is outstanding, with a well-curated menu that combines the best of Western and Indonesian cuisine. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, and the variety, while not overwhelming, is enough to make you want to try everything. Whether you're in the mood for something traditional or more familiar, Warung Ñelayan delivers on all fronts.
An added bonus is the availability of beach loungers, allowing you to spend the entire day here, soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach without ever having to leave the comfort of this fantastic restaurant.

Read moreThe place looks lovely, the staff was nice, was looking forward to give it a try until we ask kindly if it’s still possible to order some breakfast menu at 11:20 am on a Sunday. The staff nicely ask the very rude chef who says no no cannot in a very rude manner while looking at us. And when I told him it’s not a problem there’s no need to be rude about it, he angrily say terserah terserah which translated to what ever. The staff apologized and was ashamed and when I ask if there was a manager to inform the rude behavior of his chef she say that there was no manager working there. Which is not a problem. My only suggestion is if the owner would like to keep such a rude and angry chef, please make sure it’s a close kitchen and not an open one. If he feel so comfortable being rude to paying customers I wonder how he treat his staff. I hope his food is damm good if he’s behaving like Gordon Ramsay. A pity because the place is very nice the owner made effort in renovating and putting love into the place. I...
