This venue has soooo much potential but is not managed very well.
Made a booking through Google, arrived, and the hostess is using a pen and paper for reservations and did not have my booking. we are in a digital age , time for an upgrade.
Oysters, were pretty good though , I'm told they were from Lombok. All tge starters were good , we had high hopes.
There was an entire section empty behind the musicians that was clearly visible. It makes tge restaurant feel emptier. If you can't fill the restaurant, close sections that don't need to be open.
The lobster and spaghetti was a miss , the lobster had no flavour, and the crumbling did it no favours.
My heart was broken by the excuse of a tiramisu , a martini hkass filled with marscapone and a 5mm line of sponge, I would have eaten it but my wife didn't want me to have a heart attack. Please google image search a tiramisu snd compare the sponge to marscapone ratio and then look at what you are serving. You will also shed a tear.
Wine selection is a decent one BUT hiw does an Itslian Restaurant not have Limoncello ?!?
There was also the "manager" walking around doing absolutely nothing , he couldn't even make eye contact or talk to any tables. Doesn't belong there.
Music was great , the live pianist and guitarist with the stunning vocals from the lady set...
Read moreThis used to be our favorite place before the pandemic, but today we've left the food on the table (still paid for it!) and left because of poor hygiene and lack of consistency in health protocol observed. The personnel put on a good show outside at the tables, with the temperature measurement, providing hand sanitizer, and all staff wears both masks and face shields. However, when I was returning to my place from the toilet, I've seen personnel entering the kitchen area, e.g., preparing coffee for one of the guests. At that moment, the masks go on the neck, and the face shield goes up. All that while they handle your food!
I do understand it's not convenient to wear a mask and shield all day. Still, in current times, especially when the daily new cases of tested and infected are over 100 a day in Bali, this lack of care doesn't build up my trust. I can only imagine what other health and hygiene protocols are being regularly broken in the kitchen out of guest sight. For anyone confident enough in their strong immunity (or the nutjobs who believe that the current world pandemics is just a conspiration and media propaganda), this place is probably still an option. Food used to be tasty here. However, after today's experience, I am not going...
Read moreThis restaurant caters for those in a tie or wearing thongs. Outside is a spacious area with subdued lighting and enough space between tables to offer intimacy. Inside is a fine dining area, furnished beautifully and completely air-conditioned. Unfortunately, I don't think the menu supports the surroundings in this area and some imagination could be applied there. Another negative is the only toilet in the establishment is at the far end of the inner dining area so there is an endless procession of people from outside in beach clothing, thongs and quite casual attire traipsing through the restaurant creating a conflict with any aspired ambience that one may have hoped to prevail. Having said all that, this is Bali and one must accept it's uniqueness. There is a great pianist playing tunes from 'The Sound of Music' through to some very laid back jazz. The menu supports the traditional high end with seafood and steak but also caters for the pizza lover which I can assure you are quite tasty. BTW, the wine cellar is superb and would be well regarded in any restaurant in Australia with a good range of international wines including Chateauneuf du Pape and others from the...
