We were staying at the Hyatt and came here for my husband’s birthday. He ordered his pizza well done, asking for it to stay in the oven longer—but it arrived undercooked. We sent it back to be put in the oven longer, but even after the second try, it was still raw. You could literally pull it apart and feel how the pizza base was still doughy. He couldn’t even eat it.
I also ordered my pizza well done and requested no pesto. Unfortunately, mine came undercooked as well, with pesto on it, and missing the arugula it was supposed to have. When I asked about the arugula, they told me they were out and handed me a side of watercress instead.
After all of that we really expected they would deduct something from our bill especially for the inedible pizza, however when the bill came they charged us for everything, and it wasn’t until we said something that they deducted a pizza off the bill.
Honestly, at a restaurant inside a 5-star hotel—especially one called Pizzaria—you expect the pizza to at least be cooked properly, especially for what you pay, and when you specifically ask for it to be well done. It was such a disappointing experience, made worse by the fact that this was my...
Read moreWe stopped at Pizzaria for dinner whilst staying in Sanur. It’s right on the beach front, and is a modern and welcoming Italian restaurant. It offers various places to sit, but we opted for an outdoor table on their terrace as it was a nice evening.
The menu has a large variety of Italian dishes, and we enjoyed everything we ate. The Arancini we had as a starter were definitely a highlight, alongside the delicious Chicken Milanese, which was delicious crisp and cheesy. We also enjoyed a cocktail during Happy Hour, which was buy 1 cocktail get another free.
When we arrived around 7pm, I have to admit, it was a bit chaotic due to lots of families and children dining. However, by 7:30pm it became a lot quieter and calmed down. This may not be the case every day, but this was just my experience when I visited.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and did a good job managing the very busy restaurant. Overall, we had a really enjoyable meal and experience at Pizzaria and would recommend it if you’re looking for dinner whilst...
Read more4 of us dined here. The good: 3 who had regular pizzas were fine and 2 of them had their pizzas boxed to finish the day after they were so big. Pizzas were decent value. The Bad: I had ordered a large gluten free pizza as I’m Coeliac. To say it was thinner than cardboard is no exaggeration but it also tasted like cardboard! They could have disguised the base with lots of toppings like the ‘normal’ pizzas had but they didn’t. They also made a mistake and brought me a smaller sized pizza than I’d ordered. They also gave us free bread and included gluten-free bread for us too which is a good thing. However clearly no-one tastes the Gf bread as it was dry and awful. The normal bread was covered in rosemary and oil and looked great. Drinks were very expensive especially the wine. I left very disappointed. They did offer to redo my pizza and make it large or do another regular sized one. It having seen and tasted it. I couldn’t do another !
3 stars however reflects that the others in the party who had ‘normal’ food were...
