Location : Good location, easy route from the main road in capital city, near famous place. Food/dish : They have various dishes on the menu, so no reason that the menu book is so big and heavy. Yet if you come with group, you could check it individually with scan the barcode for the PDF version, so you don't have to wait along your friends look for and choose the meal. Most of the dishes are Indonesian, however they also provide some Western or Malay dishes. Though they have sooo many kind of dishes, they serve the guests fast and so well. We're not waiting too long for our meal served on the table. The portion is enough. Good taste for the Kwetiau, Chicken with Mango/Pineapple Sauce, and the snack (Gyoza, Shrimp Lumpia, Veggie Lumpia, Hakau, etc). Ambient/Spatial : I came with my fam and we booked 1 private room on the 2nd floor. It seems to me that the capacity of air cond not suitable with the size of room. Too big and too cold for that small room. There's no "restaurant music" to keep the ambient up, so the vibes is just our hush and sound of our spoon on the plate. A bit confused with the interior design concept and some decorations don't match with the room. They have a praying room/mushalla on the 2F. Parking area : not so big. When it's on peak/busier hour, some car parked along...
Read moreThe restaurant have variery of menu for both food and beverage. All of the waiters and waitress also very friendly and give menu recommendation. The menu is leaning toward indonesian food. The taste are fine but I think it was too expensive. The portion was too little and there's nothing special with the taste. I ordered steam dory and smoked chicken with matah spices. It's good but nothing extra-ordinary despite the rather expensive price. The broth for steam dory was refreshing though. The last time I went, the places kinda packed since it was holiday season. But it would be better if their service can be done faster. I waited little bit too long with my parent there. The place are stunning visually. Perhaps because it was an old place but the air conditioner is not even helping. It was so hot inside the room. Unfortunately the parking area is too small and the place kinda have hard access(because of traffic light and street divider around Tugu). If you want to come here, it'll be easier using public transportation like online taxi.
Ps: around a year or 2 years ago, I used to go to this place and there's huge change of menu option. There was vegan menu in the past. It was very tasty with rational price. I wonder why it...
Read moreDinner on our second evening in Yogyakarta was a feast to remember! 🍽️✨ 📍 Madam Tan Indonesian Restaurant
This charming spot surprised us with some Dutch-inspired dishes like Holland Biefstuk and bitterballen—fun, but we were here for the full local experience! 😄
So we dove into a colorful spread of Indonesian favorites:
🥤 Drinks: • Fresh watermelon juice • Creamy avocado juice • A sweet, nostalgic glass of cendol 🌴
🍽️ Food: • Soto Betawi – rich and comforting • Tumis Kangkung – can’t skip the greens • Nasi Kuning Rijsttafel – a whole plate of celebration vibes • Hainan Bebek Panggang – tender roast duck with bold flavor • Gurame Salad Mangga – crispy fish with a tangy mango twist 🐟🥭
We couldn’t finish it all in one sitting, but every dish was a joy to taste—and best of all, it was wonderfully affordable 💛
A flavorful way to wrap up another beautiful day in Yogyakarta....
