A huge bowl of Bubur Ayam (around 6x what is pictured) for 50 K IDR++

It doesn't look like much, but this is the best porridge in town. So much so that i could not abide with its plain presentation and i just had to pile up some slices of ginger and spring onions along with some fried peanuts and chili slices as to make it look more presentable. It really doesn't look like much, but the flavours really pack a punch - it's so good could eat the porridge on its own.

The chicken porridge comes with a decent amount of chicken meat, but really experience has shown that their scallop or seafood porridge (80 K++) is much more worth it. If you still want chicken, their steamed chicken is much better (90 K++ for half a chicken).

Either way, the porridge itself is what really takes the cake as it is that great infusion of the broths which really makes the porridge just so good on its own. I suspect it is a combination of chicken and fish/seafood stock that seems to be a somewhat traditional method of preparation probably derived from its Chinese heritage. I think a lot of Indonesian porridge makers, or really any chef anywhere, could really amp the tastiness of their dishes by mastering the use of this mix stock combo.

That being said, their ginger, chili, and spring onion slices marinated in soy sauce really helps with the freshness, saltiness, and spiciness if one ever feels the need to add layers to their porridge. Their perfectly fried peanuts are also a great addition for texture and smokiness.

Add in some cakwe (20 K++) for some more texture or eat them on their own with a bit of soy sauce as a snack. Their 20 K++ range juices are always fresh and is really worth the asking price.

All in all, it's a bit of a premium but it really is worth it. Do pay them a visit and experience it for yourself, i bet you won't be disappointed.
