Cabe Ijo PIK — Restaurant in Jakarta

Heard about Cabe Ijo for their delicious seafood so I chose Cabe Ijo at PIK for lunch on Tuesday. The restaurant is half full when we arrived at 12.45. Service took a long time. I asked 3x to get my drink (iced orange). The waiter/ess are busy chatting with each other and forgot about my order. This resto is not suitable for business/formal lunch. The air conditioner is not adequate, so after a while I drenched in sweat (I wore formal batik attire). The hygiene is not good, there are flies flying around preying our food.

The food is good. Especially ikan alu-alu dish (I ordered cabe ijo one).

The payment is nightmare. This resto only receive hard cash and bank transfer (?). I think this day only a few people bring hard cash more than 1,5 mills in their pocket. There is no mobile operator signal (Telkomsel and Indosat/Tri) in the resto. I used resto wifi for my bank app (something I don't recommend for safety reason).

This resto should: improve their hygiene (install some anti insect UV light). train waiter/ess (to pay more attention to customers). use EDC from 2 or 3 bank for payment convenience. So if one EDC is troubled, you have a backup.

Decent place,they have special offer during weekdays. Crowded during weekdays.

Tried out the following:

Nasi liwet,(ok decent,,,but rice not warm up enough).🙄

Ayam goreng cabe hijo,dagingnya empuk (nice chilli must try).👍🏼

Sapo tahu seafood👎(disappointed with the contents,its not even hot enough to be called Sapo style+the small prawns are🦐 not fresh. its just breakdown beforw we ate it. Obviously,its just taken out from freezer reheat allover.🧟

The only saving grace after we reported SapoTahu problem,the lady manager promptly responded that' if in the next visit,if we found the dishes unsatisfactory in quality,we could returned jt to kitchen for replacement.

So gaes if you found dishes simply not fresh/unsatisfactory, just tell the manager asks for replacement.(BE PROACTIVE). Dont keep Quiet.!

With this statement i believe the resto deserved a 4 Stars (at service aspect.).

I’ve tried Cabe Ijo at their Pluit location but this new location at PIK was not as good as the one at Pluit. The restaurant is not the cleanest, the seats and table were dirty even though they wiped it while we were waiting to be seated.

There were flies all over, the place was hot since there were barely any fans here. We did come during a long weekend so the place is quite overcrowded and loud.

The seafood were fresh but we waited for over an hour just to get our food. Even then, they forgot some of the dishes that we ordered, the veggie that we already ordered weren’t even in stock and they didn’t mentioned it to us until we asked about the missing dishes.

The coconuts are not fresh, you’ll have to refill your own tea, the staff were overwhelmed by the weekend traffic.
