Ciknic Roast Chicken — Restaurant in Jakarta

Great, warm little place in Darmawangsa, perfect for a little lunch break during the afternoon.

I'd say, i'm pleasantly surprised. I wasn't really expecting much, but i'm delighted with everything they have in store.

The room is decorated very nicely. It gives a cozy little shack kind of vibe. They put the menu on drive so you don't need to touch the menu pan during pandemic time.

The menu variety itself isn't something that you can call their strong suit (mainly roast chicken, and some other light bites if i remember correctly). But what they do have, they made sure they're great.

I had the Special Quarter Chicken with White Mushroom sauce. The Chicken comes with rice, of which they seasoned so well, my favorite part of the dish is actually the rice. 😂 They chicken itself is quite okay.

The best parts of the chicken itself are the skin and the fact that it's very easy to dissect. I could eat the wings and clean it just by using my mouth (i didn't use my hand to even hold the wings). The skin is well seasoned. I love the herbs they use.

FYI, you need to purchase the sauce separately. The price is around a quarter of the Chicken set. You might think twice. But based on my experience, it is worth to try. The sauce is actually my second favorite part of the complete dish. It's not those generic sauces you find. And i might say, it might be much better than those of Holy Cow's and alike. So, my suggestion, try it.

Ordered the grilled chicken breast as it's prone to being dry. Pleasantly surprised that it was perfectly succulent and paired with fresh creamy spinach. The dish was surrounded by sprinkles of green spice that gives a jolt of freshness to your palate so it wont get bored easily. Tried the springrolls, and they were great too!
