Din Tai Fung Chef's Table — Restaurant in Jakarta

As with all of the restaurants in this chain that we have visited around the world the quality is high, service is excellent and atmosphere is good. This one was not quite as nice inside as most, but still clean and well maintained. We had the xiao long bao with crab, and the xiao mai which as always were excellent. We also had the duck fried rice and pork chop both of which were very good. We tried the asparagus with garlic which was tender and tasty and cooked perfectly. Lastly we had the salted egg shrimp which was OK, but far from the best I have had. The coating was very wet and although the shrimp were fresh and well done the salted egg being moist made the dish less appealing. I would still go back and certainly...

Rating solely based on food since service at DTF is always great no matter the location. Despite being Asian, I’d only been to the DTF in Vancouver, which everyone thinks doesn’t meet their standards and expectations of Asian DTF. I came in expecting the food to be so much better than the ones I had in Vancouver, yet I left surprisingly disappointed. I had the pork as well as pork and crab XLB, but they just tasted so much better back in Van. The roasted pork was okay, nothing memorable. The chilli noodles with beef was amazing tho! The chocolate lava XLB is also better in Van texture-wise. Sea salt cream was also way saltier. Overall it was an okay experience, tho I was a bit let down...

The beef black pepper and pork chop are the absolute stars of the show flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The staff was also very attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

This isn’t my first time coming back to Din Tai Fung, and I’m glad to say the taste is consistent still just as amazing as ever.
