Kopi Lima Detik Panglima Polim — Restaurant in Jakarta

Very nice coffeeshop! It has indoor smoking area at the front, quite compact and relatively small. But it has a larger non-smoking area in the back, I think. I have no chance to check out the non-smoking area but I’m assuming it’s not as full and crowded as the smoking area (makes sense cuz indoor smoking cafes aren’t really a common thing). The coffee tastes good, I tried the Kopi Lima Detik Original for 21k. Very affordable, and I like that they ask you if you are dining in or just ordering for take-away, because the coffee is served in a regular glass. Which I thought is a nice, small detail that a lot of coffeeshops doesn’t really do. It also has exhaust fan, so the room doesn’t felt stuffy with smoke. I do a small work thing on my laptop, they have wi-fi there, and well it works. The music they play is also not very loud, so still comfy for you to work. Overall, a very nice experience, you can take the TJ Bus 1E that stops right at the front of a park, which is like 50m away, I think. Also close with MRT St. Blok A. So, very strategic honestly.

Although, if you are coming to this place ONLY looking for the indoor smoking experience, you need to find the right time. I went there around 6pm ish, right after rush hour, and it’s quite crowded. The seat that I sat is the only one available, and when I sat down, the room is completely full. Also, apparently there are some leaks from the roof? Which they place a bucket to hold the water from spilling around, right beside my seat. Which kind of takes more room, and makes it kinda...

Food is great! The staff was all friendly as well. Price ranges from 20K if you only want to order drink, but could range starting from ~50K for both food and drink.

The only cons is that they prioritise smoking customers. Cigarette smoke was the first thing that greeted me when I opened Kopi Lima Detik’s door, even faster than the waitress unfortunately…

The air-conned smoking area is located at the front, while the non-smoking one is at the corner, separated by a sliding door (which they never close, so I’m not sure what’s the point of having a non-smoking area in the first place 🤷🏻‍♀️). We also need to go to the cashier to order, which is located right at the air-conned smoking area. I ordered food while holding my breath as the room was full of smoke 😅

Was planning to spend some time here, but could only stay for 30 mins, ate for 10 mins, then ended up taking my food away. Oh, and wifi is also slow. Definitely...

i ordered Es Kopi Lima Detik Original for 18,000. i do love the taste of this coffee and this is one of the best-iced milk coffee i have ever tried so far. for me personally, the taste of the coffee and milk is very much blended together. it fits well on my tongue and stomach. the price is affordable with this superb taste.

for the place itself, it is enjoyable for me-time or hangout with friends. last but not least, the interior design is alluring and well-furnished which carries a modern concept in army green.

my only concern is with the employees. when i want to order, the employees are busy in the kitchen so they didn't even notice that there are customers waiting for them. i waited for quite a while until finally one of the employees come to serve me and other customers. i wish that in the future, the service can be improved...
