I came without reservation for the 12 noon dine-in slot, luckily the table was available. For other timeslots, especially the dinner ones, highly recommended to make a reservation beforehand!
The place is easily accessible even if you walk from Blok M or Blok A MRT station. Good ambience as well, and because they have limited seatings that also gives a semi-intimate vibe to the place.
This is our first time in Picca, so my 5-pax group wanted to try both the personal steak and the sharing portion. For the personal plate we ordered MB7 (200gr) with Pomme Puree and Blackpepper sauce, whereas for the sharing portion we got Rib Eye MB7+ (600gr) with Frites and Mushroom and Chimmicurri sauce (yes, for sharing portions you can choose two different sauces).
The personal MB7 was delicious, tender and juicy, very well-seasoned. The Rib Eye MB7+ was even better! More tender and juicier. Seasoning was also on point that you can enjoy the steak without any sauce (the sauces are nice to have, but not to the point that you need to purchase additional sauce).
The Frites were delicious, very well-seasoned. AND THEY WERE FREE FLOW. Can't remember how many times we asked for more! The Pomme Puree was, sadly, not as wonderful. It had the right consistency of a puree (smoother than a mashed potato which is chunkier), but there was slightly too much of nutmeg to the point where it stood out, especially because the Puree was smooth. Less nutmeg would have made it perfect otherwise.
For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu. It was great but not outstanding. It was creamy, you can still taste the mascarpone, also the coffee-soaked lady fingers. Definitely better than some popular tiramisu stores out there.
We didn't order the pasta or any other side-dishes because we were too full already. Our final bill was slightly less than IDR 1,500,000 (about IDR 300,000 per pax) which is very very reasonable for a very good quality steak. Overall, very worth the price, and will...
Read moreJust had dinner at Picca Steakhouse and tried several dishes.
For the starter, I ordered the Trio Bruschetta – this one was really good, fresh and flavorful. I’d give it an 8/10. Then I had the Truffle Cream Pasta – also tasty and creamy, but I felt like the truffle flavor wasn’t strong enough. It could’ve been more “medok” – 7.5/10 from me.
I also tried the side dish: Caramelized Sautéed Onion & Mushroom – honestly, this one was pretty average. Nothing wrong with it, just not that exciting. 7/10.
Now for the main star – the Picanha Steak. This was delicious! The mushroom sauce was spot on, really complemented the steak well. But there was one thing that bothered me a bit – the way they sliced the steak. It felt like they cut it against the grain, so the texture was a bit tougher than it should’ve been. Still, flavor-wise it was great. Fries on the side were crispy and tasty too. Steak gets a 9/10, and the fries 8.5/10.
Ended the meal with Tiramisu, and wow – this one blew me away. Soft, creamy, just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely the best way to end the meal. 9.5/10.
As for the restaurant atmosphere, the space is quite small and the tables are very close to each other. It didn’t feel super comfortable, especially when you’re seated right next to other guests. If you’re planning to bring small kids who haven’t quite learned how to behave in public spaces, I’d recommend not bringing them here – it can really affect other people’s dining experience.
Valet parking is available and costs IDR 25,000.
Overall, the food was great, but the tight space and noise level might not be...
Read moreWent here at noon, we were like "it usually takes reservation to be able to eat here so if it's full, let's go some places nearby" but our luck, there were places for two. The waitress upfront was so cordial, so thus the way the waiters and waitress inside. The place is not too big (enough for 30/35 people) and it shares places with some more tenants. Picca is located at the left front side. The interior is like steakhouses in general, with tables lined up with paper tablecloth above the linen one for easy cleaning. Since it's lunch hour, we were given 90 minutes for seating time (incl time waiting for the food). Ample time it was, since we share a plate of mb7 (they ran out of mb5), seasonal menu of scallop plates (they were so so, I'd not recommend it) and tiramisu for dessert. The steak was quite good (make sure you order medium rare or rare since it got chewy once it cooled down). The free flow fries are good!! (Thank you Adam for the cordial service and mng Harris for the free takeaway seasoned fries, appreciate it!!) We had fun dipping them in the tiramisu cream (my taste hahaha), as some fries are soft and some are hard so the hard one gets dipped in cream. The tiramisu is viscous, so a plate is definitely enough for two people. They served it to you with a performance (sort of?) As in they took the container it was made in, cut one sixth with a large spoon and placed it on a smaller plate in your table. Then they made it raaaining chocolate powder on the tiramisu. All in all, it was quite a nice experience eating in a place you found on google maps and finding it up to your...
