HALAL Beef Kwetiau!
My personal numero uno #1 Pontianak style beef kway teow in town!
At first, I thought my judgement might be biased since my parents regularly took me here since I was in grade school.
But, I took my wife and my friends and they agreed that this is definitely one of the best Pontianak style beef kway teow in town ππΌππΌππΌ
Just like any others Pontianak style kway teow, they offer a selection of cooking style; Fried with soy sauce, siram style (fried and then served with thick and sticky sauce), Bun style (fried with a little bit of soup or the Javanese usually refer to this style as nyemek), Soup style, and last but not least Yam style (dry kway teow seasoned with soy, garlic oil, and a little bit of black vinegar).
My personal favorite is their Beef Kwetiaw Siram because the kway teow were fried with eggs first, then they will separately cooked the thick and sticky siram sauce which consisted of lean beef slices (you can ask for beef tendon and beef tribes as well), scrambled eggs, and choy sum veggies.
It is 100% halal, garlic oil dominates the taste as well ππΌ
But their other kway teow style are worth to try as well, especially the yam style.
Their fried rice is also very delicious with the distinctive char aroma from the wok, and seasoned very well ππΌ
PRICE I could not recall the price but I believe it was somewhere around 50K - 60K per portion.

Even though itβs chinese restaurant, the food they served is halal. This restaurant start opening at 4 pm. Before that, it would be another restaurant, that sell pork menu (non halal). Just be careful for muslim customer.
Align with their name, they specialized in kwetiau based menu, to be exact Pontianak kwetiau dish.
I tried fried kwetiau with beef as a topping. You can try different topping such as seafood and jeroan. They also add veggies such as bean sprouts (tauge) & mustard green (sawi hijau).
About the portion, it is huge, enough for 2 person. The taste is superb. The beef cut is rich. The price is slightly pricey, 60k. But worth the bucks for such huge portion and superb taste.

I have been a loyal customer of this place since I was in elementary school and now I have graduated college. I know this place from my parents who have been loyal customers of this restaurant long before I was born. It's located very close to Delicious Bakery Hayam Wuruk - just a few stores ahead. When I was writing this review, the MRT expansion project was taking place so the Hayam Wuruk area's traffic was quite messy but thank God this kwetiau restaurant is still very much accessible.
I have tried most of their kwetiau options and the best one for me is the kwetiau siram. The portion is very huge, with lots of meat, generous toppings of vegetables, and the flavor is very tasty. Even the kwetiau kuah - which I never like in other kwetiau restaurants because I think kwetiau kuah is too basic - tastes so good! Their kwetiaus are my benchmark for kwetiaus in Jakarta. So far, I have never found the one that can beat this place as my most favorite place to eat kwetiau and that's a lot coming from someone who has tried a lot of kwetiau places in North and...
