Pierre is a fine dining restaurant concept, part of union group. The entrance of the resto is kinda small, and the signboard is easily missed if you don't pay attention of the street. The entrance is beautiful, has this french-italian vibes. Parking requires vallet service.
Interior are dim light, well I came for dinner. Interior is truly elegant, simple with a touch of rustic vintage decoration such as old photos, old cashier machine, there is a small fountain outside.
Service is excellent as any other fine dining restaurant. They are quick, fast. While changing to the next course they immediately clean the table and change the plate.
For the dish Bisque de homard (IDR 255k) , a lobster cream soup like texture with scallops. Texture is creamy, taste well balance, you could definitely taste the lobster, not fishy at all. Scallop cooked nicely, very delicious, no complaint at all.
Escargot (IDR 110K), nothing special though about this dish, taste kinda bland. But the texture is nice, cooked perfectly.
L’entrecôte au Poivre (IDR 555k) 250 gram of steak, covered with peppercorn and brandy cream sauce. Meat cook nicely, tender and juicy. I had comparison with other fine dining restaurant, same cooked level which is medium, but the other is more tender and cheaper. The peppercorn add a nice texture of crunch, sauce is delicious, different from typical steak sauce.
Cou de Porc Ibérique (IDR 455k) pork meat at it's finest indeed. Pork cook very nicely, tender juicy, just enough of fat. Sauce is like a mushroom sauce but definitely on a different level, if you love mushroom sauce, then this is very delicious and appetizing. No complaint at all.
Poulet Aux Quarante Gousses D’Ail (375K) half. Oven roasted chicken with garlic. Among all the dishes, this is the most disappointment. Chicken not cook evenly , has parts where it goes dry, some juicy, some dry, nothing special for this chicken, no sauce just oil and garlic from the chicken itself. This dish is just fine, not recommended.
We order crepe flambe I think? Crepe cooked with flambe torch fire with rhum, served with vanilla ice cream. We order it only to look at the fire presentation, taste is just okay. Nothing special though.
They served welcome bread, texture like sourdough, hard and chewy. But the sad things is, we cant ask for more, if we ask for more it will be additional charges. For fine dining, this restaurant is cheapskate for obviously hard chewy welcome bread.
Overall my experience here in pierre was nice. The highlight is obviously the bisque. The only downside was the chicken. Would I came back? I might go with the other restaurant with more affordable price and juicier steak, with more delicious dish, and free to ask...
Read moreI would like to provide some feedback regarding its suitability for Muslim individuals. It is important to note that the majority of the food offered at this restaurant is non-halal. Additionally, I found the restaurant to be unwelcoming towards muslim costumer who wished to pray during designated prayer times. It seems primarily targets non-Muslim customers, but it is important to recognize that in a country with a majority Muslim population, interactions between different communities are inevitable. It is not uncommon for Muslim customers to visit such establishments for meetings or to attend invitations from others. However, I was deeply disappointed to find that the restaurant vehemently opposed any form of prayer within its premises, which is a significant act of resistance against its Muslim customers.
While it is understandable that the restaurant may have a specific target market, it is essential to acknowledge the diverse nature of society and the need for inclusivity. By prohibiting prayer within the establishment, regardless of the circumstances, the restaurant is effectively disregarding the religious needs and practices of its Muslim customers. This not only creates an uncomfortable environment for Muslim individuals but also demonstrates a lack of respect and understanding for their religious obligations.
In a country where the majority of the population follows Islam, it is crucial for businesses to be mindful of the cultural and religious sensitivities of their customers. By refusing to provide a designated area for prayer or accommodating the requests of Muslim customers in this regard, the restaurant is actively marginalizing a significant portion of its potential clientele.
It is my sincere hope that this critique serves as a wake-up call for the restaurant's management to reconsider their approach and policies. Encouraging an inclusive environment that respects and accommodates the needs of all customers, irrespective of their religious backgrounds, is not only a moral obligation but also a smart business decision. By embracing diversity and fostering a welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant has the opportunity to establish itself as a truly inclusive establishment in a majority Muslim country.
Ultimately, it is my belief that by addressing these concerns and making meaningful changes, the restaurant can not only gain the trust and loyalty of Muslim customers but also contribute positively to the overall harmony and coexistence within the...
Read morePierre is a French restaurant as the part of Union Group. Before coming here, we have to make a reservation first. They only give us 90 minutes duration for dining in. Just like most of the restaurants in Senopati area, they only provide valet parking with the price IDR 35,000 / car.
During the pandemic, they require us to do the check in and check out by scanning the barcode through PeduliLindungi apps, wear face mask, do temperature checking as well. The menu could be accessed by scanning the barcode through our mobile phone.
Pierre has both of the indoor and outdoor area. The indoor area is more spacious, similar with a classic European house. They provide Charcuterie, variant of Entrée, side dishes, Plat Principal, dessert, both of the alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
Here are what we tried :
Escargot (IDR 95,000) As part of the opening dish, escargot is the famous French dish. This was my first time having escargot. Garlic butter breads served with the warm baked burgundy snail, tomato fondue in the green colored sauce.
Filet De Saumon (IDR 185,000) The thick and tender pan roasted salmon served with beurre blanc (classic French butter sauce) in garlicky sauce, and asparagus.
Pommes Frites (IDR 75,000) The other words for French Fries. The thick deep fried and salty potato sticks is good as the sides.
Soufflé "Noix De Coco" (IDR 145,000) This dessert is full of coconut and served warm. Coconut soufflé filled with the creamy texture of coconut praline. It tastes less sweet as well. A nice warm dessert that is similar with bread and...
