Smarapura — Restaurant in Jakarta

For lunch my friend and I ordered the nusa dua package, a set of cuisines for two pax consisting of: sliced fuit, lumpia, lawar, sate magenep (a mix of different types of sate, sate lilit, sate ayam, sate sapi, sate udang), rice, plecing kangkung, ayam (the original set is duck, but we requested ayam, for the sake of preference), and plain tea.

The accuracy of their food is below expectation. According to the waitress serving us, lawar is a mix of jackfruit (nangka muda) and long bean (kacang panjang). But, what we got was a mix of bean sprout (kecambah) and kacang panjang.

Prior confirming our request to change the duck to chicken, we have asked the type of chicken they are serving, and the waitress confirmed that it will be a pejantan. We said yes. And we were served with ayam broiler (this was later confirmed by the cashoer on duty when I showed her the photo of the chicken).

For the taste, I am confuse of their reference of Balinese cuisine authenticity and taste. For example, the sambal matah served for us consisting of sliced red onion and chilli, no lemon grass and...

Nasi Campur Bali (Rp.45.000) Mari kita breakdown satu persatu Kulit Ayam Crispy : Teksturnya agak alot karena pas dateng sudah agak dingin, seasoning kurang nendang Telur Balado : Standar telur balado, sambalnya mild tidak terlalu pedas Kacang Goreng : Lumayan garing dan ngasih rasa sedikit pahit, cocok buat nambah layer rasa dan tekstur kalo dimakan barengan Ayam Suwir Bumbu Bali : Pedas dan gurih, bisa lebih enak lagi kalau bumbunya lebih berani Sate Lilit Ayam : Rempahnya berasa paling nendang dibanding lauk yang lain, overall lauk yang paling oke Bawang Goreng : Bukan tipe bawang yang garing, rasanya gurih dan wangi, cocok dimakan bareng nasinya Sambal Matah : Sudah lumayan mirip rasanya sama daerah asalnya, cabe potongnya lumayan nampol pedesnya kalo kegigit Sayur Urap : Sayurnya lumayan fresh, jadi pas digigit ngasih tekstur garing, untuk bumbunya tipis gak terlalu terasa Kuah Kuning Sayur Nangka : Sebenernya gatau detailnya ini apa, tapi rasanya gurih enak, mirip kuah ayam betutu gitu, didalamnya ada sayur nangka yang kayak di restoran padang Untuk lauknya gak ada yang menonjol sendiri, jadi cocoknya dimakan barengan selayaknya nasi campur, rasanya mayoritas gurih dan pedas, teksturnya juga bervariasi jadi gak bikin bosen ngunyahnya, untuk porsinya sendiri cukup banyak, gaperlu beli lauk tambahan, harapannya penyajiannya bisa lebih hangat dan tiap lauknya dieksekusi lebih bagus lagi. Overall lumayan lah walaupun masih sulit kalo di compare sama yang di daerah asalnya

Untuk restorannya sendiri lumayan dapet vibe Balinya, ada sound alat musik khas Bali gitu, tempatnya outdoor gak terlalu luas, harga makanannya standar Tebet, serving timenya lumayan cepet (waktu dateng emang agak sepi sih), lumayan lah buat warga Jakarta yang iseng kangen pengen nyoba...

A taste of Bali in Tebet

Carpark , up to 6 plus roadside parking a la Tebet Ambience, if you manage to be seated in the veranda or for some reason rain doesn't start pouring there, that's the place.

Chair sitting is not that so bali-ish. However when we got there ( early for dinner ) around 5.30pm, rain was still dripping, and the veranda is still wet, So we sat in the gazebo area, which has around 4 groups seating capacity ( about 8 person max ).
