Sushi Matsu - Menteng — Restaurant in Jakarta

This is place is quite new not yet one year but has attracted upscale crowd. Simple yet authentic, this place offers both traditional sushi and rolls as well as the fusion ones. Expect some foie gras and some other creation by the chef. It's location, adjacent to cemara hotel is quite weird but also great because you can escape the headche of parking at the mall. For menteng area, this is one of the better place. I have to say,however, that presentation is slightly like Sushi Hiro in Senopati and PIK arrea. On our last visit, we had udon ( they don't serve ramen only udon), beef steak cubes ( yummie), the beef aburibwith foie gras -- the foie gras is a tad small but for the price,it's ok. We also ordered the premium.unagi/eel and it was the best!! The thickness was just right. Our friends orders Hana sushi which consists of 5 sushi including scallop, beef and salmon..it was arranged on a ladder style. We also ordered California rolls and they are taste well, good portion and fresh. I would definitely recommend this...

Authentic Japanese dining experience. The meals served here feel like they were made with a lot of love and thought put into it – even down to the simple chicken katsu. The salmon sashimi slices were big and tasted so fresh. The wide array of sushis is a guarantee that you will find something you like. They even have a vegetarian list of sushis in the menu (though they still contain fish eggs – which to my knowledge is harvested by killing the fish). The cawamushi also felt fresh and has a subtle umami flavor to it – it felt calming, somehow.

As for the staff and ambiance, they were your typical high-end Japanese restaurant. The staff service was nice, polite, and even would joke with the customer. As for the ambiance, it fits very nicely for the atmosphere the restaurant is trying to capture, with slow and mellow music and calming lighting.

Super outstanding sushi and Japanese food in central Jakarta. While you visited this town and missed kind of Japanese food, this place strongly recommended one. This place near with Jakarta business center such as Sarinah, government bodies and agency also the center of tourist attraction. Surrounded with abundance hotel make this place quite comfortable for tourist. Restaurant are divided into two rooms, smoking and non smoking room. Menus are various and really represent what you looking for from Japanese food. Sushi, Ramen, Ocha tea and so on.
