My friend informed me about this pastry shop, and I interested because looks so cute. So, my friend made reservation, as I told her, I want to bring my mom. And my mom wouldn't be able use the stairs. Though the reservation process went slow, but finally we got our table. Thankfully, since we booked for 4 persons, there was no minimum payment. And no dine in duration as well.
When I arrived there, my friend already there and have ordered. We got seated at indoor area, at first floor. They have two table, if you wish to sit outside. And they have second floor with indoor and outdoor area. So, I really glad we made reservation. I ordered these following for me my mom:
Traditional fried rice (IDR 55K) My mom wasn't really into it, perhaps not enough spices for us. Yes, the portion is big for two. For me, is okay, though nothing special about it.
Croissant martabak (IDR 25K), pain au Belgium Chocolate (IDR 23K) & Choco lava cake (IDR 45K) These took FOREVER to be served. I don't understand what took them so long to serves this. It's not like they have to make these from scratch. The martabak croissant is okay (when they said martabak is sweet martabak, with milk and chocolates), the pain au chocolate is too flaky for my taste. The choco lava cake surprisingly not too sweet but don't expect any chocolate lava melted for your social media gallery.
Hot almond coffee (IDR 32K) When served, the art latte was ruined, probably because the waiter got tremor hand or something. Seeing my disappointment, they offer to make it again, so I appreciate their effort. The coffee is too strong for me, but I can taste the almond.
Lemon Selasih (IDR 21K) RECOMMENDED to be order during hot day. Very refreshing!
Though they serves us politely and nice, the process after you order until you have the pastry in front of you, took...
Read moreI came bcs of the IG Ads I saw couple times before. The cakes and pastries look so pretty and decent. Then we ordered poured tiramisu, meises slice cake, cappucinno and vietnam iced coffee for a total IDR180.000
ohmy ohmy, the poured tiramisu looks so pretty and appetizing, maybe I just overexpecting, however it tastes so bland and not sweet at all 🥲 I know maybe they dont wanna make it too sweet, but it's still need the sweetness afterall to call it a dessert. I couldnt even taste the coffee or any vanilla-ey taste from the pastry cream. couldnt make to finish it.
meises cake is dry and the chocolate taste unusual. I dont know how to explain. it's sweet but sour also.
cappucinno is sooo bitter and "kelat", the bitterness lingers and unpleasant (maybe bcs of the coffee roasting profile). sorry to leave it like 80% as per pic 🥲
vietnam iced coffee is the only one we can tolerate 😅
1st floor aircon sounds so loud and not cool 🥲
I do hope they can make some improvements in the future, bcs the place interior is nice and conceptual and also the location is so strategic, and the price standard is already...
Read moreTiny, cozy café in the center of J-Town. Classic interiors combined with delectable sweet treats and main courses. To tell you the truth the café's range of baked goods are quiet impressive, however its mains are a bit all over the place: Korean style ramyun, fried rice, and a few of Middle Eastern fares.
Thankfully, taste redeems it all. I tried Korean dry ramyun, tiramisu (the wet kind, you know, with milk on the side) and iced palm sugar coffee (not my best choices, I know), while my spouse ordered Nasi Kecombrang and hot americano. Originally, we opted for date-based drinks, but we were informed that they dates hadn't been available for some time.
The café itself has a nice ambience. Though the parking space only accommodates three cars and probably five motorbikes, it has its own tiny mushola/prayers room. It has two stories and an open air roof deck on the second floor, overlooking Wahid Hasyim Street. Smoking is only allowed on the roof deck as the interior spaces are air conditioned.
We had a good time there. One very minor quip, all orders are taken and paid at the downstairs...
