The place has been here since forever. The bistro focuses on German/European food but has since introduce some Asian/ fusion menu.
Bratwursts, bratwursts everywhere, all types and kinds and taste, and of course beers! a whole bunch of them, but mainly just garden variety beers, such a shame they don't have the any German craft beer, They should've tried to sell Indonesian craft beer and elevate the place to beer heaven. Other alcohol selection is quite adequate.
The food is typically European, 'super mild' in taste, and the portion is quite generous. The pork knuckle, I think, is the bistro's most sought after dishes. Be forewarned that it's amazingly huge portion is going to make you work hard to finish it, also you're advised to reserve beforehand, since cooking time is north of one hour!
I've tried the Germans, two types of German sausages withs side dishes, the taste was 'super mild', portion was generous. I've also tried their aglio olio, generously bask in olive oil, again taste mild but pretty good. I reckon you should try it with medium spiciness level.
The place had no air conditioned room, hence I recommend choosing the innermost seating since it's not so hot there. The parking is adequate, and the place is within walking distance from Gondangdia station. The place had no huge signboard in the outside, but the place had distinct yellow paint job that is hard to miss.
The price is super reasonable, and you could check their menu out in their web site.
All in all, it is a great place to dine and had a drink or two. I've been coming here for quite sometime and will surely be here again.
ps. The National Gallery and National Museum is pretty close by, and would be a great addition for your after...
Read moreNot my first time here but somehow I mis to put a review.
It's a decent resto from the outlook but the meat quality and taste will surprise you. It serves a german style kitchen, with quite an otentic taste I would say, not quite but absolutely not bad at all. The bratwurst is quite good, the pork medallion is perfect, brat kartoffeln (german fries) is also quite good, overall a resto to recommend when you want to try whether you will like german cuisine or if you miss one.
The service is not quite professional, but I'm happy they serve cold glass for beer and the steak is cooked medium without us asking. The kitchen is 5 stars worth of resto of this kind.
The parking is maybe just for 2 or 3 cars comfortably, so yes it will be easier to come with a motorbike, taxis, or walking.
The place is without aircond, even though they have big fans in every corner. So it is quite warm, maybe hot on certain days. They open until quite late with a competitive price for the beer. It is an old house, but clean enough. Like i said, decent but the menu will satisfy you without hurting your wallet.
My choice next time when I miss the...
Read moreFood selections here are no joke. You can get anything Europeans usually have with the price of Indonesians. Idk how they can make it but for sure if they ever opened up for a branch inside mall buildings, I bet the price will go crazy.
Their pastas are remarkable with outstanding portion and reasonable price - you won't get such portion with that price in any elsewhere. Their porks are awesome - you won't be getting unreasonable high price for a thin slice of pork steak. Their strip bacon is juicy. Their garlic bread is the upmost important starter you must try before trying their main menu. Their pork knuckles are worth to be waiting for (!!!) Their burger is somehow needing to be improved as their buns are flimsy and badly beaten by the ham. LoL Their breakfast menu is champ.
Their Lemon Squash is refreshing Their variety of beers are alright
Their staffs are the warmest.
I have zero thing to be complained about. Even their salad is crunchy and tasty!
I heard they have another branch in Serpong area, been hearing a good review related as well about it but I guess the centre has always...
