The Roast — Restaurant in Jakarta

Korean fried chicken but healthier version, that's how I would review Goobne 😁 they finally opened in Kelapa Gading, right next to Excelso (outside lobby 1) and we dropped by after some drakor episodes = cravings.

The place is recently opened so still has that newish feeling. MOI Ruko has high ceilings and this appears even more with bright white lights and simple designs. We ordered half fruity soy garlic and half volcano chicken. Both came out in decent time and accompanied by white radish kimchi, simple salad and crackers. Extra points for gloves and the bucket to put in the bones. Chicken tasted good, the volcano I find was not spicy enough but still yummy. However the fruity soy garlic stole the show and was our dinner highlight. It was crispy and sweet with a hint of fruit which was superb. Of course we couldn't finish and brought home the leftover, can't wait to finish that soon.

Overall I would recommend Goobne for anyone who likes Korean fried chicken. Although keep in mind you won't get the super crispy coating/skin since this is oven grilled. But healthier means can eat more...

Overall taste are good, although it’s bit salty for me. Must try their sweet and spicy chicken. They served it for half chicken, don’t expect for all wings or thighs. Their rose tteokbokki sauce is great, but too bad i got mushy one so it’s not chewy. My suggestion i think its better to put premium sausage instead of cheaper one with that price.

If you never heard of Goobne or saw their menu, you wouldn't guess that the chicken are oven baked. It's very crispy, and not oily :) We ordered the pepper crispy and fruity soy garlic; the pepper crispy cooked perfectly with juicy chicken inside, and the soy garlic still very crispy considering it's being saucy.
