I recently visited Toastbox, a kopitiam style restaurant, and had mixed feelings about my experience. While the cheese, egg, and ham toast and kopi susu were undeniably delicious, the slow meal preparation time left much to be desired.
Let's start with the positives. The cheese, egg, and ham toast at Toastbox is a definite winner. The combination of melted cheese, perfectly cooked egg, and flavorful ham creates a delightful blend of flavors. The toast itself was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, adding a satisfying texture to the dish. I thoroughly enjoyed each bite and would highly recommend this menu item to any toast lover.
The kopi susu at Toastbox was also excellent. The rich, aromatic coffee combined with the smooth and creamy milk created a delightful beverage that was both comforting and refreshing. The balance of flavors was spot on, making it a perfect accompaniment to the toast. If you're a coffee enthusiast, their kopi susu is definitely worth trying.
However, one significant drawback of my experience was the slow service and meal preparation time at Toastbox. While the kopi susu arrived promptly, it was disappointing to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for the toast to be served. This delay disrupted the overall flow of the meal and left me feeling slightly frustrated. It would have been more enjoyable if both items had arrived together or with a shorter waiting time.
Despite the slow service, the quality of the food at Toastbox is commendable. The delicious cheese, egg, and ham toast and the flavorful kopi susu showcase the restaurant's dedication to providing authentic kopitiam-style cuisine. It is worth noting that the slow service might be a result of high demand or unforeseen circumstances, so it might be worth giving Toastbox...
Read moreI visited Toast Box with my family yesterday, during the fasting month and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. Although there were only a few visitors at the time, the preparation of our order, which included toast, coffee, and half boiled eggs, took a long time. The coffee and toasts arrived first, but the eggs took forever to be served, and when they did, one pax was missing. When I asked about it, the waitress looked at me with disbelief and was very rude when finally delivering the missing eggs without even apologizing. The overall experience was unpleasant, and I won't be coming back. I highly recommend trying Kun Kaya Toast instead, where the food is much better in taste, and the service...
Read moreI ordered bihun kuah (tasteless), nasi lemak (taste funny, topside was ok, bottom side was bland) and traditional butter kaya toast, the sandwich supposed to be a layered butter, kaya jam and toasted bread. But not in this place, toasted bread, kaya and a THIN STICK of BUTTER (video attached) 😭🤯 😭. This place need a proper improvement compare to their places in Singapore or Kelapa Gading, it’s way to far from their standard. Sorry, not recommended...
