Tori Hachi:
Highly recommend. Tori Hachi is more similar to the now-closed Tori Ichi rather than the Tori Sei. I hypothesized that this place is a reincarnation of Tori Ichi due to the name similarity, menu, and the long wood counter table. The staff confirmed this hypothesis.
Yakitori: Overall, I think it's not as good as Tori Ichi, but way better than Tori Sei All items ordered are available, even niche items like knee cartilage and neck which are more often out of stock than not in other places (one of which is Tori Sei) Taste is similar with Tori Ichi but maybe not as good - maybe because I came in when they just opened for lunch or they didn't re-recruit the guy from Tori Ichi and he hasn't reached his full potential yet. Most skewers with crispy elements lack a little crispiness. Charcoal flavor is there but can be more pronounced.
Service: Staffs are friendly, organized, and got all my orders correctly (unlike Tori Sei) Food comes out quick (unlike Tori Sei) Many ex-Tori Ichi staffs, supporting my opening sentence
Place: Clean and spacious, however please note that this is only their 1st month. More convenient than Tori...

I came back! I tried their lunch set menu Karei (fried flounder). This one was good. Crunchy, soft, savory and kinda salty. You get soy sauce, mini salad, miso soup, rice, fried flounder and coffee jelly. The coffee jelly was soooo nice. Not too bitter, not too sweet. I also ordered the yakitori : sasami cheese, enoki buta bara maki, and momo.
Back again on july 2024 The coffee jelly was still my fav. My friend tried the yakitori don and sake ochazuke and they love it! The drinks was also nice and refreshing.

Read moreOne of the place place to eat yakitori and other Japanese food. Lots of yakitori choices to savor and portion wise is very fulfilling.
For starter we ordered the Koebi Karage (deep fried small shrimp), it was crunchy and it goes well with cold beer. For the yakitori we ordered Momo (chicken thigh), Momo with negi (chicken thigh with leek), Tebasaki (chicken wing), Buta Bara (enoki wrapped in bacon) and Gyutan (beef tongue). Everything were well seasoned and cooked perfectly.
We also ordered the lunch menu, which were curry rice with chicken katsu and pork katsu rice set. Both were very good, the curry sauce was a bit...
