o I had the "Chicken Labamba", it was like a chicken steak with a nice sauce with onion pieces. My second order was the "Ayam Pelecing", this was like pulled chicken within a very creamy light curry sauce with coconut milk. Both menus I liked very much and I am someone that choose only food I know but in Indonesia I made an exception because I like the herbs, spices and so on.
The ceiling fans are weak. It can be feeling very hot One order was already a little cold

Bali Jaen Warung is a small Warung (next to Bobo). The food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for relaxing and having a great meal.
We actually went here two nights in a row. The first night we had chicken wings for an appetizer and YES so crunchy and delicious. We also all had the fish wrapped squid and it was very tasty. The beers were cold and perfect.
We came back the second night to have the Chicken Putu ( you ahve to order 24 hours in advance.) OMGosh - this meal was giant and so fantastic. There were 5 of us and there was food to take home after because there was so much.
The chicken Putu came with Urab, corn fritters, rice, and satay.
ORDER this - this was so incredible.
We you want a small cozy place with great food and good prices away from the tourist traps... this is the place. They know there stuff!

Just had dinner here and it was fantastic. The local food is fine in their own style that works really well. The Mahi Mahi fish was cooked perfectly. Paired together with the sambal matah it was just a prefect meal. My partner desire for chips was satiated with his pork ribs meal. Very reasonable price for great food. What the place lack in ambience is truly made up by the food. Clean and honest tasty food. Will return. We did return the next night and had the stuffed calamari and Bali Jaen fish.
