Nyoman Local Food Cafe — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

I wasn’t expecting much at first, but Nyoman Local Food in Bali Uluwatu turned out to be one of the best food experiences I’ve had in Bali. The food is very, very, very good — honestly the most worthwhile meal I’ve tried here. It’s not a fancy “atas” style restaurant or a touristy spot, but that’s exactly what makes it special. The service and the people here feel so genuine and authentic — truly traditional Indonesian hospitality and flavors.

Their sambal deserves a special mention — super delicious! We even asked to pack a little to take away for supper, but they surprised us with a big box instead. The staff were so kind and told us they were just happy we enjoyed their food. We ended up going back again to order more!

My wife rated the “chicken” burger the worst burger she has had in her life (& she is NOT a fussy eater). The “chicken” part of the burger appeared to be some sort of thinly sliced reconstituted (regurgitated?) chicken sausage tossed into a burger bun with copious amounts of sauce. (See photo attached). It was really bad! I had the Satay Ayam which was 5 sticks of dry chicken in reasonable peanut sauce with white nasi. The girl serving us looked miserable & her service and behaviour reflected that attitude. Pretty sure we spotted the eye roll when I didn’t tip. Fat chance kid with your attitude. Authentic Balinese flavors and amazing hospitality! Nyoman Local Food Cafe is a hidden gem in Uluwatu. The food is absolutely delicious—authentic Balinese dishes full of rich, homemade flavors. I tried the nasi campur and the chicken satay, and both were outstanding. Everything tasted fresh and was beautifully presented. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality you get. What really stood out, though, was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Nyoman and the staff are incredibly kind and make you feel right at home.
