The people at this restaurant? Super friendly and welcoming, which makes me really want to love this place… but sadly, the food and drinks didn’t quite match the warmth of the staff. The drinks were so bland (I asked for a alcohol free beer I received a normal one, then had a lemongrass ginger iced tea), I had to double-check I didn’t accidentally order water. As for the local Indonesian dish I tried, it was spicy, sure, but lacked that flavorful kick you expect from good local cuisine. It’s like the heat was there, but the taste took a day off. I had hopes for the crème brûlée and the chocolate Basque cheesecake, but neither really hit the mark. The crème brûlée was more ‘meh’ brûlée—no satisfying crack, and the flavor was about as exciting as a bowl of vanilla pudding. The cheesecake? Let’s just say it was more like a chocolate mystery—bland, heavy, and missing that rich, creamy magic you expect.
That being said, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff make you feel right at home. If they can get the food and drinks to catch up with the service, this place could be a winner. Until then, maybe bring your own seasoning – and possibly your own...
Read moreI came across this new place in Uluwatu, very close to Thomas Beach and Bingin Beach. Came with a car, and their parking space was huge, so I didn't have to worry. I went there for lunch after a good surfing session at Balangan Beach and had the Soul Smash Burger, which perfectly hit the spot. The patty was amazing!
Also tried their nasi campur, which was surprisingly good, consider this place was surrounded by touristy cafes, and most of their menu was western. The sambal, authentic taste and spicy. The chicken was sweet, though, I prefer spicy. Overall 9/10.
Their venue was a very comfortable and chill spot in Uluwatu with great interior. Spacious with natural breeze and lighting from many openings. If you want colder air, they have this aircon room. They said the second floor was great for sunset, and at night it's more romantic vibe.
A must-visit place for sure. And will come back to check their sunset...
Read moreHow does this place have so many stars? The ambiance and staff are decent but the pizza is on the lower bottom of pizzas I've ever had. Sauce felt like it came directly from the can without seasoning. The cheese was tasteless and the toppings were too small to make a difference in the taste. They say hunger is the best seasoning, even after skipping breakfast food here was so unremarkable that I can't imagine a universe where I'd go back to eat here again. And they brought some unrequested hard and stale bread with definitely not baba ghanoush. That is a eggplant, olive oil, lemon and other seasonings. What I got was plain, melted, salty, garden variety butter. I guess anything passes as exotic when some people haven't ever visited the middle east. At the end I ended up having to overpay for.
Hard, hard pass. Keep your money away from these sort of...
