Review:
Suka Espresso [Uluwatu] is a hidden gem nestled in the stunning area of Uluwatu, Bali, offering a delightful coffee experience for discerning caffeine enthusiasts. From its cozy atmosphere to its exceptional coffee selection, this cafe is a must-visit for those seeking a memorable coffee adventure.
Stepping into Suka Espresso, I was immediately drawn to its warm and inviting ambiance. The cafe boasts a charming interior with comfortable seating, rustic touches, and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages lingering conversations and moments of tranquility.
The star of the show at Suka Espresso is undoubtedly the coffee. The baristas showcase their expertise and passion, crafting each cup with precision and care. The menu features a variety of coffee options, from classic espresso-based drinks to creative specialty concoctions. Whether you're a fan of a velvety cappuccino, a smooth latte, or a bold pour-over, Suka Espresso has you covered.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their signature house blend, and it exceeded my expectations. The coffee was rich, aromatic, and expertly brewed, showcasing the high-quality beans and the baristas' dedication to their craft. The attention to detail was evident in every sip, making it a truly satisfying coffee experience.
Beyond the exceptional coffee, the staff at Suka Espresso were welcoming and knowledgeable. They were more than willing to share their expertise, offering recommendations based on individual preferences and engaging in friendly conversations. Their passion for coffee was contagious, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.
Suka Espresso's location in Uluwatu provides a serene and picturesque backdrop for coffee indulgence. Whether you choose to sit indoors and absorb the cozy ambiance or relax on the outdoor patio, you'll be treated to beautiful views of the surrounding area, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of Bali.
It's worth noting that the cafe can get busy at times, especially during peak hours. However, the efficient service and the dedication of the staff ensure that you'll receive your coffee without excessive wait times, allowing you to savor every moment of your visit.
This unfortunately resulted in a lot of mis order. For example we had to ask 4 times for the coffee when the food is already all served.
In conclusion, Suka Espresso [Uluwatu] is a hidden gem that offers a memorable coffee experience in the enchanting area of Uluwatu. With its inviting ambiance, exceptional coffee selection, and knowledgeable staff, it's a haven for coffee lovers seeking a cozy retreat. Whether you're a local resident or a traveler exploring Bali, make sure to pay a visit to Suka Espresso and let your taste buds embark on a delightful coffee journey.

Read moreThis has to be one of the best restaurants we have visited in Bali, and that is saying something given how many amazing places we’ve tried. We first came in just for a quick coffee, but the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the glowing reviews made us curious enough to stay for a meal. I started with the chicken wings as a starter and followed with the wagyu burger as my main. Both dishes were absolutely top-notch. The chicken wings were perfectly cooked, juicy on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside, and the wagyu burger was simply incredible. The brioche bun it came on was the softest, freshest, and most flavorful I have ever had.
For two starters, two mains, and three drinks, we paid only about 518k, which felt like an incredible value for the quality we received. We were so impressed that we didn’t even think twice about coming back the very next day — not just for one meal, but for both breakfast and dinner — and we were definitely not disappointed.
Breakfast was a treat in itself. The same heavenly brioche bun was used for their bacon and egg omelette, which I loved with all my heart. The combination of the fluffy omelette, smoky bacon, and that perfectly toasted bun was unforgettable. Later that evening, I went for the BBQ pork ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a rich, smoky-sweet sauce that left me wanting more with every bite.
If I could give one recommendation to anyone visiting Bali, it would be to make sure you visit Suka. The combination of fantastic food, genuinely lovely staff, live music that creates the perfect vibe, and prices that make you do a double-take is unbeatable. We left each time with happy stomachs and happy hearts. Thank you so much for having us and making our time in Bali even more...
Read morePopped in to grab a take-away croissant from here on our way to a surfing lesson. The croissant was very oily and had hardened, bright yellow margarine stuck to the bottom of it. This was also very expensive for what we got.
We were also not impressed that our waitress insisted on including a service charge for a takeaway pastry?! When we asked to remove it (as there is no service involved in a takeaway order), she refused. We were in a rush so just paid it, but this definitely left a sour taste.
I have worked in hospitality for years and I am a huge advocate for tips and service charge. But service charge is discretionary and should never be added onto a takeaway order, as by definition, this does not include service. I find it extremely cheeky when companies add mandatory service onto every transaction. It takes advantage of customers and it completely devalues tips given to staff who do in fact provide great service!
EDIT in response to owner’s reply: Service charge is and always has been a discretionary charge that should be removed at the customer’s request. It is a charge in place of tips, and is there to recognise when the staff are particularly attentive (ie: prompt table service, clearing plates away, checking on how your food is etc). Therefore, it should never be included on takeaway orders and it is extremely presumptuous to include this. Your response suggests that you do, in fact, take advantage of your customers which is...
