I’ve been a loyal customer of Roti Canai & Teh Tarik Bunana for years. The only reason I kept coming back was because the food — especially the roti canai and teh tarik — tastes genuinely good and consistent. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing left about this place.
The biggest and most frustrating issue is the incredibly slow service. This has been going on for years and still hasn’t improved. Waiting times are long regardless of how busy the place is. It feels like the team has no urgency or proper system in place.
Another constant annoyance is how stingy they are with tissues. You’re lucky if you get one or two sheets, even when clearly needed. It’s honestly ridiculous — they might as well increase the menu prices slightly if it helps them afford basic things like tissues.
What truly pushed me to leave this review is my experience with delivery orders via Gojek. I’ve had items missing from my order more than once, and there was zero initiative from the restaurant to take responsibility or offer a solution. Gojek rejected the refund requests, and the restaurant just stayed silent. That’s not just bad service — that’s completely unprofessional and careless.
At this point, no matter how good the food is, I can no longer recommend this place. Poor service, no accountability, and lack of basic customer care have completely ruined the experience. Very...
Read moreContrary to other reviews, I came here a Sunday at 8pm and got my food pretty quickly, despite the place being packed ;)
Place is a busy shack with a couple wooden tables, by a very busy street. A bit chaotic, local and delicious. You can see cooks throwing around dough to expand it to desired size. We were the only foreigners eating there.
You get a menu and an order pad, write down what you want and hand out your order. Rotis come in different variations and different sizes, S and L, prices go up to ~20k for a large roti.
Your order comes on a banana leaf covered plate, sauce bowl on the side. You dip your roti in the sauce.
For 2 people, we tried 4 L rotis and were really full. 3 might be enough. The plain roti canai was...
Read moreStill being my favorite food actually, but dislike their services. Place is so dark, the lamps is switched off. It’s a nice place actually, but..... seems the staff are lazy to give attention on it. Tried warung bunana on sunset road and sanur and it quite nice comparing with here. I think the management should fix their staff attitude, because I’ve been here many times and they are doing the same. Especially the cashier, used to give give less change, look like they are not preparing small money for changes. But honestly I love the taste of Garlic Roti, Yellow Rice, Teh Tarik, and both Curry. For me it’s perfectly combination of spices. 3 stars...
