Finally, got the chance to try this seafood street restaurant without long queue 🤭. The last time I went here, they had a very long queue under small rains and with only little social distancing, so I ended up cancelled my plan to try.

So, what makes this place so popular? This is the place where most of the locals eat seafood. Yes, not at those overpriced beach side restaurants, but at small warong like this. And we all know that locals usually know the best lol.

All of their seafood are fresh from that early morning's catch. So, they only sell fresh seawater fish and only as much as they got that day. Once all of their stocks sold out, they will close their warong no matter what time it is. Sometimes if they have no good fresh catch, they won't open the warong. So, better call first and make sure to come early.

I have to admit that the fish tasted real fresh. The meat was sweet, juicy, and tender. I usually don't eat fish much, but this time I ate a lot lol. Prawn was yummy and fresh, too. I actually order mussels and clams, too, but I forgot to take the pictures lol. For the clams and mussels, I like it to be more dry, but their style is a wetter one.

4.But what's make it more yummy was the sambals. They have few types of sambals, but sambal matah is always the best, and their sambal matah was perfect. All of the ingridients were cut into very thin size and was combined perfectly.

Very affordable price, of course. Their fish costs only 75K/pcs. So heavenly.

Place was clean and relax, people was friendly, service was fast. Will definitely be...

Came here on a sunny afternoon for lunch. It was a really simple place, no AC, no fan, no gorgeous view of beach, need to walk outside if you want to wash your hands, but it was clean and comfortable enough for us to eat here.

We ordered grilled red snapper (pick your fish from the freezing box outside) and grilled mussels (shrimp also available). As a person who rarely eat seafoods, I have low expectations about this place and the food.

However, here comes my favourite part. It only took them around 15-20 minutes to serve all of our orders. The fish was grilled to perfection. It was really fresh and juicy. The mussels also great. It turned out to be fresh and sweet (I didn't know mussels have that sweet taste?). They also served a generous amount of delicious side dishes and condiments (try to pair your fish with their Sambal Matah, it was e p i c). The only downside of this place was they only serve a few selection of drinks (you can get a cold bottle of Guinness here, but all I want to get was some sweet iced tea).

It was a very good experience, it overrides my dislikes towards seafoods (it also overrides my Google Local Guide hiatus). We only paid 150k rupiahs (around US$11) for our order with rice and drinks. A small price to pay for a great seafood. If you want to eat seafoods like the locals, I recommend you to get here. For the next time I wish I can bring my parents to eat here, I'm sure they'll love it here.

sorry for the lack of picture, didn't have the time to pick my phone,...

Came here for the great review and maybe expected too much. They didn't have that many fish options, when we came there were only jangki (don't even know its name in Indonesian, so don't ask for its English name) and kakap/snapper. So jangki it was and a plate of clams.

It was Monday afternoon so the place wasn't too packed, we didn't have to wait for long. The foods were not inedible, they were fresh, okay enough, just not up to the hype. Fish skin was flavorful, but its flesh was too bland. Same case with the clams. I think they weren't well-seasoned before being grilled. I read someone's review that said their sambal matah was too salty, I have to agree with him.

Service was so so, just don't expect smiles. Price was a bit high. A medium jangki fish (enough for 2-3 persons), a plate of clams, 2 plates of rice, and a bottle of temulawak (no drink for me, I brought bottled water) cost 150k.

At dinner time we searched for another seafood stall in Serangan to make up for this somehow disappointing experience. Got much cheaper, tastier, and more variable dish...

OMG why do i just find out about this place now??? It is a but far from the usual areas people go to, but my god it is soooo worth the bit of journey! For someone who doesnt really like sweet, grilled Indonesian seafood typically doesnt interest me because of the excessive sweetness. However, warung Mami is like God’s answer to my prayers, their marinade is more savory and tomatoe-y than sweet, even the iconic Bali grilled clam dish is more umami than sweet, which brings out the natural umaminess of the clam even more. More unique things about this place are they provide a delectable set of sauces for your dishes, but the most unique one is the fried garlic, ive never seen fried garlic in seafood place before and it boy it works! And lastly, the pickle, oh where do i start, the pickle is literally the most memorable thing on the table, and this table has many memorable things! The addition of shallots to the pickle is something so simple, yet so miraculous. Aniway, come to warung mami, you wont get disappointed!
