As a vegetarian, I often struggle to find appealing options at buffets, but here I was delighted to discover a wide array of nine different delectable dishes, each scoring a perfect ten in my book. The standout for me was the scrumptious Mac & Cheese, a dish that can be easily botched but was executed flawlessly here. The variety on offer, including mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, pumpkin, carrots, greens, stuffed delicacies, and green beans, catered perfectly to every palate. Even though I've never been a fan of pumpkin pie, I was pleasantly surprised by the one served here; a single, reluctant bite won me over. Entering the restaurant and wandering about the stunning campus at Karma Kandara was a feast for the eyes. The elegance and serenity of the surroundings created a soothing ambiance that added to the overall dining experience. My wife and I had the immense pleasure of dining at Di Mare during our honeymoon stay at Karma Kandara, and it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable highlights of our entire trip.

Set high on the cliffside, Di Mare offers a stunning blend of luxury, tranquillity, and breathtaking ocean views. The ambience is refined yet relaxed, making it perfect for a romantic evening or a special occasion. The resort’s private beach, accessible via a scenic inclinator ride, adds another layer of exclusivity and natural beauty to the overall experience — but it’s the restaurant itself that truly blew us away.

From the moment we were seated, the service was flawless. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. A very special shout-out to Dirta, who looked after us throughout the evening — his kindness, attentiveness, and warm energy truly made us feel celebrated and cared for. He made an already exceptional experience feel even more personal and memorable.

The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was crafted with precision, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. The burger (standout winner at a culinary challenge), - i could have this one burger and walk away happy.

At one other point, we had a question about a particular dish, and to our delight, the chef personally came to our table to explain the inspiration, ingredients, and how it was prepared. That level of interaction and care is something we rarely experience, even in the most high-end restaurants.

And then came the moment that completely floored us: we casually asked if it was possible to move to a table with a slightly better view. Not only was our request handled immediately, but to our amazement, the manager had the crew remove all the glass windows around the dining area to give us a fully unobstructed, panoramic view of the ocean and private beach below. That is the kind of service that is simply on another level.

The combination of spectacular views, world-class food, heartfelt service, and thoughtful touches made this an evening we’ll never forget.

Cons: To Di Mare staff: DON'T EVER DELIVER FOOD TO A TABLE IF THE PATRONS ARE NOT SEATED THERE. 😑 It's a fine dining restaurant, and thats a huge NO NO. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, and amazing views, yet there were insect's that could fly in due to it having an outdoor affect to it. We returned to our tables to find our one of our dishes on the table. You never know what could happen. Presentation is supposed to be everything in a place like this and that was bad presentation. I'm sure things would have been well, had we been at our seats, but the staff must know better, plus it was my wife's birthday, so she was taken a back to day the least.

The staff are very sweet and kind, yet we noticed that there we're other people that we're having issues, maybe they we're under staffed tonight?

Also, they we're out of 2 wines we choose, and brought food first which is a no no.

Pros: Again the staff was very sweet and did what they could to make it right, yet the education of how to improvise in fine dining seemed to be lacking. Yet, very sweet staff. In regards to the food, it was amazing. I was in search of A5 Japanese Wagyu, and to my surprise, it was on the menu, so I had to order it. This might be the only place that has it in Bali. At least in uluwatu. Australian Wagyu is everywhere. My wife ordered the 6 course seafood, switched the prawn for steamed fish. I also had octopus for an appetizer. Everything tasted so good, except for the main course fish, which was shocking because it was the main in the 6 course dinner. It seemed to be over cooked.

The staff did sing happy birthday and present my wife with a chocolate cake which was very sweet. The chocolate dessert that came with the 6 course meal was really good too.
