I always send clients to this beach club and they said they are happy with the experience. So when I am back from the UK, I decide to spend time there with my husband. At first, I did ask one of the sales teams about the minimum spend to get a lounge bed. It's 2,5 million and we don't mind paying as long as we can get the bed we wanted. Thanks to the sales she said that we can pay based on consumption. But anyway, we will spend our time here for the spa as well, so minimum revenue is not an issue for us.
I deliberately choose this club as I know they have a spa. I was invited to the wedding gathering so I visited the spa and was interested to try their treatment.
First when I arrive a the main entrance, I asked my husband to go while I will go to get car park. The security is not helpful and isn't friendly. Even my husband said he was ignorance. Plus looking at me as a local? Aahh feel complete. This security guy typically a person who might nice to western only😅
At the restaurant, we order food and drink first, before moving to the bed. However they didn't find the booking made by the sales. We request for L3 but it was taken already, so anyway we move to L2.
It's a bit confusing about how it works. We order drinks and food from one lady. Then food came from other lady and a waiter. Then when we order an extra drink to they guy who delivered our food, the drink takes forever. Then lady came again and we asked about our drink and order an extra drinks. It's turn out the extra drink arrive and my previous order didn't come. Instead of sort out my drink, this lady said if we want to order anything, all must order through her. What an odd policy? Is she think that I am asking for compliment as my booking came through their sales? Then finally my drink came.
We enjoy our time, swimming, eating and drinking by the pool. As the beach will have no sunset view, we choose to go for a spa.
We mentioned to the sales that I would like to book a spa. So asked the spa menu. It takes forever. How can I choose the treatment and when to start if we don't know the menu? Finally the lady gave me the spa menu. I mentioned to the waiter that we want to go for a spa at 3pm and will do 2 hours treatment. He said Ok and already contact the spa.
Short story. When we arrive at spa, the spa staff asked us to wait for 15 or 20 min. I am Ok as I can still swimming at the front spa. Then they said treatment not available for 2 hrs but only 1 hr. I do come there to try massages 1 hour and facial 1 hour so it will be 2 hrs. We saw one guest leaving and served drink (ginger tea) it's normal to get hot drink after the treatment. We do feel disappointed, knowing we only be able to do 1 hour treatment as they said they will close at 6. Then the reception offer 30min facial and they can do 1,5hrs in total. I decide not to have facial. Better to get 90minutes massage than 30 min facial. I worked at Spa company on 2003 and know lots about spa and treatment. So I know how it work. I just feel this staff just want to get rid of us. I knew the lady who did my massage was tired. I saw her kept yawning and closed her eyes while dong the massage. I do feel sorry for her and leave a tip to say thank you. But I didn't expect them to treat us like that after the treatment. It's the first time we didn't asked by the therapist how's the treatment? And they didn't offer us a drink after treatment. No eye contact after treatment to say thank you. Oh dear it's really terrible.
And there is now shower facility after the treatment. So we went back home with oily skin. Driving for 2,5hrs to get to this beach club leave disappointment.
I did mentioned all my complaint to the sales team. I didn't expect to get treatment like this. Even my husband feel that they just want to get rid of us.
This beach club not local friendly.. I feel that the staff is just expecting foreign customers. Sorry, will not back to this place. Not for a local or...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at White Rock beach club.
Took a trip to White Rock for my partner’s birthday celebrations. We were a bit skeptical of the club due to the mixed reviews but decided to give it a go as they claim to be “the best beach club in Bali”. Following our visit, I would massively disagree with this statement.
I booked to sit in the Sunset Lounge section in advance, specifically so that we could relax a bit away from the main area, and would be far away from any LED lights at the main pool/bar area later on in the night due to having eye sensitivity. When we arrived at White Rock, we were told that we could not sit in the seats we had paid for as the section was “under maintenance” and were escorted to a new seat right in the middle of the main pool area. I asked if it would be possible to sit in the Rock Bar area instead (as this was far from the main area too), and explained that we had booked our original seats as we wanted to be far from the LED’s later on in the night, but were told this Rock Bar section was also closed for maintenance. I understand of course that it is not the fault of the serving staff, however no apologies were made for this and it did not feel like good customer service. These seats should not have been available to reserve on the website if they were not actually available to be sat in - even worse that White Rock asked for payment in advance for them due to high demand! What if we had turned up and there was no alternative seating? As they like to state that there are no refunds. I felt that this was very poor from White Rock, and it immediately put a dampener on the day.
Once in our new seats, we decided to order some lunch and thought that at least because we had already paid upfront, there was no reason to stress about paying for the food. I could not believe my ears when after having our lunch and a few drinks (2 burgers, 1 coffee, 1 cola zero, 2 mocktails and one mojito) and then wanting to order some dessert, we were told that by ordering the dessert we would exceed our payment - what!!!? We had paid 1.200.000 IDR in advance, and already exceeded this by ordering very minimal food and drinks! We were so shocked that we had to look at the menu again. Despite the nice presentation, the food was very mediocre and hideously expensive for the quality.
The majority of the waitstaff were lovely, smiley and friendly, but unfortunately the service was very, very slow. It was extremely difficult to find someone who was available to take a food or drink order, and when we did manage to order something, it took a long time to arrive- even when the club was not even half full (due to the closed areas).
The lounge beds were also quite dirty. However, the toilet facilities were nice and they were clean.
The redeeming quality of this beach club was the beach itself. It was a good expanse of beachfront and the water was lovely. The views were nice too.
The atmosphere was generally nice throughout most of the day, and it has potential to be a lovely club. By 18:30 the music had been turned up and the LED lights were on, so we left earlier than planned as we were stuck in the middle of it all.
I would say this club is mediocre at best, but has potential to be nice with improved customer service and food quality (or reduce...
Read moreOverall disappointing. The day started on a rainy note. Since we had prepaid for a daybed, we contacted the venue in advance to ask if we could cancel or move the booking. At other high-end beach clubs this is never a problem, but here the request was simply declined. The policy states that a booking can only be changed once within 48 hours after it has been made, so if you’re outside this timeline and it rains, you’re out of luck.
Upon arrival, things quickly went downhill. Guests are handed a flimsy plastic wristband at check-in—one that immediately stains skin and clothes when exposed to water (see photo). Other clubs use smarter, more thoughtful details like wooden tokens at the beds, which are both functional and water-resistant.
The property itself feels like yet another rushed Bali concept: built quickly, with little regard for quality or lasting design. Showers barely worked, the furniture looked cheap, and the daybeds were covered in visible stains (see photo). The pool wasn’t well maintained either. At the infinity pool, sitting on the edge was strictly prohibited—yet guests smoking in the water and tossing cigarette butts over the side onto the beach went completely unchecked. Empty glasses piled up along the pool edge, and three hours later they were still there (see photo).
Wanting to at least use our prepaid minimum spend, we ordered food. I chose the beef tataki salad—normally one of my all-time favorites. What arrived had nothing to do with tataki: overcooked, lifeless beef on a sad plate (see photo). When we tried to send it back, staff insisted “this is how we always serve it,” leaving the problem with us. Tataki is defined by lightly seared beef, not fully cooked meat. Only after asking for the manager did a proper version arrive. While I appreciated his effort, the damage was done.
Other dishes weren’t any better. Orders went missing. The chicken sandwich was soggy, served on damp bread. Overall, the food quality was far below the excellent restaurants Uluwatu has to offer.
The atmosphere didn’t save the day either. The crowd was dominated by loud groups of Australians on bachelor-party-style outings. Combined with the neglected service, it created chaos rather than relaxation.
To be fair, the natural setting is beautiful, and a few staff members worked hard to make up for the shortcomings. Our waitress Tini was amazing—she noticed small problems, stepped in quickly, and truly went the extra mile. Honestly, Tini should be a manager. She clearly understands how things should be done. The manager also tried his best to resolve some issues. The view is undeniably stunning, and the place has potential. But the experience fell far short of its 4.6 Google rating. Unless significant improvements are made, I can’t recommend this club for anyone looking for a relaxing day...
