They have a minimum spend of 200k per person, and they only allow you to stay at their facilities for 2hrs, then they forcefully move you to a corner "free chairs". While I was sitting near the pool side beds during my 2hrs (from 8:15 to 10:15), around 9:30, a employee came up to me and began harrasing me, saying I have to move, go to the other area. That we can only stay until the 2hrs are up? However, none of this was exaplined to my group when we entered the area. We agreed to move at the assigned time, but she printed out our bill without us asking, and told us to pay the outstanding, and kept hinting to us to leave to the side chairs. It didn't make any sense to me, that you would come up to the person, who is within their right to stay at a bed (that they are paying for, and in the time frame) to basically harass them into moving. Maybe the employee was trying to remind of of the time, however, she could have maybe done it in a more professional manner. It almost felt like she was annoyed that we were not leaving. Again, all this happened around 9:30-9:40, so the entire beach area and beach club was basically empty, with only one more group. But, I also noticed, that this employee did not approach this group about any time limits, even though they entered before my group.
The food was good - in terms of quality, however, it will take over 40 mins for you to get a single dish, they take a long time to cook (so food comes cold to the table) I don't really remember the employee's name, however I'm pretty sure I'll never forget her face. This incident just honestly made me really angry and frustrated to the point where I couldn't even enjoy the rest of my time at the place. My original plan was to spend then entire day at the beach club, with the 2hrs near the pool area, and the rest of the time near the other chairs, but I was so ticked off by this employees behaviour, that I just wanted to leave immediately.
With how expensive it is (200k rupiah! Per person) you would expect some basic human decency and professionalism. We were a group of 4 people, so totally paid 800k per person, thinking we would spend the entire day at the beach club.
I don't really expect any response from this location, however, I am mainly writing this for others who want to visit this place. My overall review is: food is good food options are good (for veg, vegan etc) it will take 30-40 mins for food to come the service is pathetic the location is good atmosphere is loud (considering it is a "club" there is loud music throughout)
You are better off paying for the beach beds, which are 30k per hour, and not have to worry about staff harassing you, and this way you get good access to the beach as well and other street...

My experience at Palmilla Beach Club was absolutely disappointing — the worst I have ever had, not only in Bali but globally. The service was extremely mediocre, and the prices were simply outrageous. We are used to staying in expensive hotels and don’t usually focus on prices, but here we paid a ridiculous amount for a subpar experience.
We arrived at 8 a.m. and stayed until 11 a.m., during which we paid 2,000,000 IDR. We purchased the minimum spend of 800,000 IDR, which allowed us to use the loungers until 10 a.m. We spent all this money, expecting a decent experience, but it was far from it.
As the time was about to run out, a staff member approached us and insisted we pack up and leave the loungers if we didn’t plan to stay the entire day. We wanted to stay 1 hour longer with our one-year-old baby, so we moved to the free area, where there were chairs, a bar, and a beautiful hammock. My baby was very tired and fell asleep in the hammock, which was only about 20 cm away from the chairs. To keep an eye on him, we moved the chairs closer to the hammock.
Suddenly, a staff member approached us with a very rude attitude and demanded that we put the chairs back behind the bar and leave the area, claiming we couldn’t stay there even though there were no explicit rules about that. Throughout our visit, we felt like we were being treated as schoolchildren — paying a lot of money for a mediocre breakfast that was only a 2 out of 5, and then being chased out and told where we could and couldn’t sit.
We also experienced poor communication and slow service. I had previously requested a baby chair a month ago, but when we arrived, there was no chair available. If you’re planning to relax with a child, be aware that your child will crawl on the sand and you will be constantly moved between zones. The loungers cost around $200, and for that amount, you get tasteless food, slow service, and zero enjoyment.
Our favorite beach is Melasti, but after this experience, we will definitely explore other beach clubs in Bali. I can confidently say that it’s better to just stay on a regular beach chair rather than pay huge sums for such poor service, quality, and care.
Never again will we return to Palmilla Beach Club. It was an awful experience filled with rude staff, overpriced drinks and food, and a complete lack of hospitality.

Palmilla Beach Club at Melasti Beach, Bali, offers a stunning setting with breathtaking cliff views and pristine white sand. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is a highlight, providing a luxurious spot to relax and take in the surroundings. The ambiance is undoubtedly one of the club’s best features, making it a great choice for anyone seeking a picturesque beach day.
The food and drinks were enjoyable, with dishes like pizza and cocktails standing out. The club charges an entrance fee of IDR 100,000, which includes a drink and towel—a reasonable start. However, the minimum spend of IDR 1,000,000 for poolside seating felt excessive, and these costs weren’t communicated clearly upfront.
Accessibility is a challenge, as you cannot drive directly to the club. Guests are required to park further away and either pay for a shuttle ride or walk a considerable distance downhill. This can be inconvenient, especially on a hot day or when traveling with children.
One major disappointment was the attitude of some staff members. They seemed judgy, assuming I couldn’t afford to spend simply because I appeared to be a local. My wife is a local, but that doesn’t mean we can’t spend or enjoy a premium experience. Why judge in the first place? Such biased assumptions are unacceptable and detract from the welcoming atmosphere a place like this should offer.
Overall, Palmilla Beach Club delivers on stunning visuals and a sense of exclusivity, but logistical challenges, inconsistent service, and judgmental attitudes leave room for improvement. It’s worth visiting for the views and atmosphere, but addressing these issues would truly elevate...
