Bagus Pub & Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuta

We come back every year. It’s more than just a bond. On 12 October 2002 we were about to eat, but they had a movie, SpiderMan on the big screen. A 35 year career in radio and TV has me hating peak distortion - drives me nuts. Before our food (which is always great) had arrived I convinced my wife to go back to the hotel and get room service.

One minute in the door, TV on. with Six Months Under playing and the windows all around us blew in. Ours were ok, presumably because our door was still open.

Flash forward a few days and while reporting at the site I noticed that where we were seated, the entire ceiling had collapsed with the table beneath crushed with all the concrete.

I have never watched that movie again, but I go back to Bagus every year since...

As a constant in Bali on pop2 I thought I would try the food at this sports bar. I came to a sports bar to watch the 1st Test Australia v India (cricket) and eat. However they had no idea what this major cricket event is. They were showing Women's cricket though. A patron needed to tell him what channel and then it went off-line in 5 minutes and never returned. (So didnt get to try the food) Walk to Turtle Bar and game is on. Love this place. The staff are very friendly and great service. We went here the first time to bali and this time as well. They live up to their moto of 'bloody cold beer' it is the coldest beer we have had in bali and have footy playing as well. Its good to walk down poppies and pop in to have a drink and some food. The Wifi works great as well. Very good with children. Do yourself a favour...
