When searching for seafood restaurants in the local area, Kori came up near the top,.. and so it should. A quaint little stone wall and traditional Balinese wooden door great you on the side street known as Poppy’s II lane. Once you are guided by the smiling staff in the street front through the gates in the evening you are met by the peaceful sound of running water and a green glow of a beautiful garden and lighting. On a hot summers night we were seated at a cool table under fans and traditional Balinese hut, with a stylish bar, elegant marble floors and a pretty water moat around the dining area with carp swimming. Free Wifi available. We ordered the Hanging Seafood bbq and Caesar salad. Wow. The meal was delivered quickly, the seafood fresh but slightly over cooked, but still very tasty. The condiments supplied with the dinner offered a nice small variety that went well with the protein. The accompanying Rice was good, not great. We had a few different cocktails which were 1st class and the Bintang beer was not only surprisingly cheap for a restaurant but was also the coldest we have had all week. I will come back for lunch just for the temperature and price of the Bintang!...
Read moreFantastic restaurant. You will find it hard to believe that you are still in the busy streets of Kuta. Tranquil authentic Balinese setting with beautiful gardens and gorgeous fish pond. Great bar with a huge selection of drinks. Try the Honeymooner's cocktail. It is delicious but be warned it is gigantic, (they certainly don't skimp). The food was amazing. For example the satay skewers were served to your table over a little wood burner and the sizzling beef and pork were served on a hot stone. We were a party of 13 from Australia celebrating my son's 50th birthday. The staff were friendly and very attentive. They went all out to ensure the birthday was a huge success with party decorations etc., and even sung 'Happy Birthday' accompanied by drums and other makeshift musical instruments. It was awesome. Would definitely recommend this high end yet cost effective restaurant to all visitors. You won't be disappointed. Well done Tanya (daughter-in-law) for arranging this dinner. Kori Restaurant and Bar was the perfect choice for a milestone celebration. We will definitely return on our next visit to Bali....
Read moreWhilst in Bali I met 2 different Aussie couples who regularly travel to here and they both recommended this restaurant. My partner and I decided to give it a go and I was so thankful we did. From the moment we walked in the staff were incredible, their service is next level. I ordered the Ikan Pepes which was fish steamed in banana leaf with Balinese spices. It was unreal! I literally put the plate up to smell it before I started eating it as the aroma was so good. It was one of the best meals I had in Bali and I ate at a LOT of restaurants. I saw a sign on cooking classes they run there and enquired with the waitress and another staff member came out to speak to me about it, their service was so personal. Unfortunately they were already booked out but if I return to Bali I would definitely do it. Their layout was amazing! They had these cute bungalows that you can sit at and had ponds through the restaurant with koi fish. I was shocked that there weren’t many other customers there, I suppose it might be because they aren’t on a main...
