When I was in New York with my ex-wife some years (decades?) back, we stopped for lunch at a Peruvian restaurant somewhere in Manhattan I think it was. When the waiter brought us our food, I found a hair on my plate. I sent it back to the kitchen and in less than a minute, he returned with what was more than likely the same plate only minus the hair. It bothered me for a long time that I accepted (and ate) it and didn't ask for something else. I vowed that if I ever sent back food again, I would never accept the same dish. I might order something else but not that same item I originally ordered. Nothing like that happened here only that they did make a mistake with my side salad, which looked very nice by the way. The kind waitress offered to exchange it, but I didn't accept it. I think most restaurants would try to salvage what they could from the original plate in these circumstances and not make something totally fresh, and I didn't want any more people messing around in what I was about to eat. Then again I really don't know what cooks do with your food when you send it back. I imagine they're not happy about it. This is probably some kind of paranoid mental issue on my part as well. Chunky Chunks is a typical looking Australian sports bar here in Bali. TV's all around were tuned into Australian rules football games. They have a stage so bands play here at night I guess. They do have a more interesting menu here than most other bars with its Portuguese flair to it. I also ordered a cheesy lovers pizza and it did have a lot of cheese on it - a satisfactory if not, overwhelming taste. Wasn't crazy about the crust though. Although I'm not sure, I think it was a frozen factory-made bread disc of some sort. I always prefer fresh dough made pizzas. So anyway, no salad and a middling pizza. With me, I guess they failed here with the food. It wasn't worth the long walk I took to come here and try out the place. You see, the day before I was passing by and took a look at the menu. A big guy standing out front named Gedek was very friendly and quite enthusiastic about the restaurant, so I thought I should give it a try. I probably won't come back. There are too many other restaurants with enthusiastic employees to try here in Bali especially if I had a mediocre experience the first time. By the way, the ex is still in New York very happy with...
Read moreI've been going here regularly but especially on Thursday evening for steak night where you can buy a good imported Aussie Steak 🥩 either Sirloin, T-Bone or Rib Eye for only Rp 150,000 with sides and a sauce.
(Tonight I ordered 2 Sirloins as when you live here it's rare to be able to afford an imported steak) Anything imported into Bali is 3x more expensive and Aussie Beef & Lamb is no exception.
By far the Sirloin is the best Steak here being thicker so they can cook it the way you want it. T-Bone is good as well.
These guys have a daily special that is Rp 50,000 and they are all mostly good.
Beers are cold, price has tax and service included which I love.
Staff are mainly good but inattentive like most places, music is played way too loud during dining hours.
Have good bands here later in the evening here, mainly an all Aussie crown with loud Aussie music.
This place overall is a good place for a feed, to listen to some live music and have a few coldies...Just don't expect...

The food is fantastic, especially the steak. I went with the medium-rare, and it was cooked to perfection — juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor from the unique Portuguese seasoning and grill style. It’s clear they know how to handle quality meat here.
The bar is another highlight. They have a good selection of cocktails that are well-crafted and pack just the right punch. From classics to some signature drinks with a Portuguese twist, each cocktail complements the BBQ flavors perfectly.
