Gabah Padma Restaurant Bali — Restaurant in Kuta

Our experience here so far is wonderful. From check-in, through our dinner experience at the restaurant downstairs at the hotel. Our server Johannes has exceeded our expectations. Very courteous, professional and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, we had the seafood platter. Grilled seafood. We demolished it. Very delicious! Service was excellent! We would recommend this place to our friends and family.

UPDATE: Although the food was delicious, I have to update our review on the restaurants workers and their ethics/customer service. It is misleading that the hotel offers 20% off food (except alcohol/drinks & special menu) if you dine at the hotel restaurant. When we paid that first evening, Johannes did not honor the 20% because he said we “ordered off the special menu”. I don’t like confrontation & I give people the benefit of the doubt so I said fine. The following evening, we decided to eat there again and this time, when I was looking through the menu I noticed that the dish we ordered the night before was from their “local flavours menu”. I decided to test them, so I asked our server (different server this time) if we ordered the seafood platter will they honor the 20% discount, he said he’ll ask the kitchen cook. A minute later he came back out and said yes they’ll honor it. I was disappointed hearing this. We felt mislead, lied to and that really brought down the respect I had for this establishment. I told him we changed our mind and would not be ordering it. Anyways, overall the hotel is clean but as far as their ethics goes, they can be misleading & deceitful so...

We thought this place was awful. The crispy pork belly was over cooked, tough and anything but crispy. I had the Nasi Campur and it was pretty terrible with unpleasant flavours and very tough beef rendang. I got them to take it away. They accused me of just not being familiar with the flavours. They gave us free desserts as compensation but we should have just asked them to remove our dishes from the bill. The rice pudding was undercooked and the chocolate brownie was just boring chocolate cake. The chocolate milkshake tasted like watery chocolate milk with ice added. If you are looking for excellent tasting food at a reasonable price, here is your destination. We went for lunch and tried the fish cakes, laksa, jimbaran fish, chilli prawns and Bali pork belly. All very tasty, fresh ingredients and with full depth of flavours. We asked for extra chilli too and the chef and team delivered. Very friendly staff (very happy to take some family snaps by the waterfall) and we asked to meet the chef at the end of the meal (sorry sir, in the excitement I forgot your name) and he came out and chatted to us for 5 minutes - we are foodies and love cooking so it was a real pleasure to meet the man cooking the fantastic dishes - the tastiest we've had in Bali so far.
