We dined a couple of times at the Rama Garden Restaurant & Sports Bar, located at the Rama Garden Hotel in Legian, and overall had a good experience. The restaurant’s standout feature is its fresh seafood selection — guests can choose their own fish, prawns, or lobster, which are then grilled over charcoal. The result is delicious, smoky flavor and great freshness.
Beyond the seafood, the menu is extensive. A great example was the 250g tuna steak, which was well-prepared and very enjoyable.
That said, the dining experience could be improved with a few enhancements. The atmosphere would benefit from being more relaxed and ambient, as it can feel quite lively and even hectic — particularly on sports nights, when the noise level is noticeably high. Additionally, the dessert menu is quite limited, mainly offering pancakes in slightly varying forms. A broader dessert selection would definitely round out the experience.
Still, for freshly grilled seafood and a wide range of other dishes, Rama Garden Restaurant & Sports Bar is worth visiting — especially if you enjoy selecting your seafood straight from the display and having it expertly cooked...

The seafood skewer tower for two is really tasty and filling. We had to pause for a breather. It is stunningly presented, albeit pricey.
The cocktails on offer are good. The “Love on the Beach” and the “Singapore Sling” were tasty but weak. The smoothies too! I found the Cosmopolitan to be weak.
This restaurant is very busy and that in itself speaks volumes. And this was only a mid week visit.
The live entertainment pumps out all the classic rock. It’s amplified acoustic so you can still carry on a decent conversation while enjoying the party vibe. In fact several times the band celebrated birthdays during this visit.
For people with allergies and intolerances: there is tons of menu variety. Selected wisely, as I did, and you’ll have a fantastic evening. Coeliacs / gluten free in particular will be okay here.

Read moreI am allergic to egg. I asked the waiter if the crispy fried noodles were egg noodles as it was the first time I had ordered this dish, he said yes they are egg noodles but he seemed unsure of his answer, I said are they rice noodles, he said yes yes they are rice noodles. When the dish came out they were clearly egg noodles. This waiter lied to me so I would purchase the more expensive dish, I was deciding between this and one half the price. He knew exactly what I was asking. Terrible service in this regard. My partner had the lobster and loved it. Staff are incredibly pushy for every customer to purchase the lobster as it's minimum 60$ per serve. Luckily it's what my partner actually wanted to eat and the only reason we went there in the first place. Unprofessional. We will not be back. Also lacking vegetarian and vegan options or...
