I am a professional chef and I don’t really like people writing harshly bad reviews about restaurants however I must put down my personal experience so people can enjoy good food. Service was bad. There was no waiters around I couldn’t ask for a bill so I had to get up and pay. Waiters weren’t rude but they didn’t have the warmth that pretty much all local Balinese people have. I ordered calamari and snapper ceviche(chef’s signature…) calamari was panko crumbed and only tasted like oil, no seafood flavour whatsoever and their deep fryer oil must have been aged so that explains the product that they use is not quality. Snapper was a bit fishy so it wasn’t the freshest.. It has to be a fresh product especially if you serve it raw. Ceviche lacked aroma, flavour and texture. It was blend, had no acid in it which is the whole idea of ceviche.. I literally had to mix the tatziki into the ceviche and squeeze the lemon which were served with the calamari unfortunately not with the ceviche. Ceviche had no seasoning at all. It just breaks my heart to see that there are chefs out there who have no respect to the product. However I must say that the atmosphere is good , spacious and clean dining room. And it...
Read moreI recently dined at the Ithaca Greek Restaurant and had a mixed experience. The ambiance and service were excellent, but the food, in my opinion, was just alright.
The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a charming Mediterranean decor that instantly transports you to Greece. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped in.
However, my expectations for Greek cuisine were quite high, and unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet them. While it was certainly not bad, it didn't leave a lasting impression either. The menu offered a decent variety of traditional Greek dishes, but the flavors and quality of the ingredients felt somewhat underwhelming.
I did enjoy the classic dishes like moussaka and souvlaki, and they were decently prepared (forgot to take pic of them), but they lacked that extra something to make them truly memorable. The dessert, on the other hand, was a delightful surprise, with the baklava being a standout.
In conclusion, Ithaca Greek Restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience in terms of ambiance and service, but I can't help but feel that the food could use some improvement to...
Read moreOh my goodness one of the best Greek places I have ever been to ( not even in Bali )! So authentic, so quick, utterly amazing! My daughter is a fussy eater and doesn’t usually have tjere kind of meals but she got the chicken fillet and loved it! Me and my husband shared a dipping platter and a meat platter and it was amazing! The atmosphere was so good! The only criticism I have is that the indoor seating is very smokey from the kitchen. I have saved the best till last and oh was it the BEST! The pita bread. (Don’t mind my grammar for this part) So delicious so warm perfect seasoning, my child said it’s the best bread she has ever had and I must agree! In you are in town this is a must go hidden treasure. The staff that served us were so sweet and genuinely nice, unfortunately I didn’t get her name but she taught us some Indonesian! It was just amazing! I hope everyone else had an experience as...
