Read moreI really wanted to love this place. The service was very good. Very attentive and welcoming. Couldn't fault them from that respect. However..
Given the multitude of 5 star reviews, I can only imagine they had a bad night. Let me describe the food. We got the lobster roll and it was much more roll than lobster. You were left with a mouthful of what seemed like slightly stale bread and little to no lobster meat. OK, we'll give it a pass. On to the tuna tartar. This was unusual and not in a good way. It was covered in a white, seemingly tasteless dome. The tuna itself tastes like it had just been defrosted. Why? Because it was still ice cold on the centre. The tuna rested on undressed salad leaves. Sigh. OK, on to the next dish. The short rib. Surely the centre piece of the mains. Again, we were left underwhelmed. It was just chunks of overcooked beef. Shortrib is supposed to melt in your mouth. This was just slightly chewy chunks of beef. Thank god we had the look warm Cauliflower to mask the disappointment.
The chef/owner was a very nice guy. He came to our table to discuss our meal and took the pri ce of the Cauliflower off. Again, judging by so many 5 star reviews, we must have had an off night. We even questioned if we were in the right restaurant. Sadly, we were. While still slightly confused, we've given this an honest review. It was mediocre food for the highest priced meal in bali so far.
Lastly, the people and service are excellent so they deserve to serve excellent food. They just have a way to go to...
Read moreThis place is not as fancy as we thought it would be, it's much prettier on the photos. The music was annoying(pop-rock), not suitable for this place at all, we wished there was no music at all, silence would've been more pleasent. We booked a table for 2 at 4:00PM opening time and for the whole time (2 hours) we were the only guests. The food is delicious, except the dessert. I have personally asked for the chocolate lava dessert and it took more than 40 minutes to arrive and it was the worst lava cake I've ever tasted eventhough I'm not hard to impress when it comes to sweets. The cake was hard, chewy, not sweet at all and the chocolate was glue-like. We were given a 10% discount from the bill as a compensation for the long waiting - we think 10% is not enough for such error. Keep in mind that this place doesn't have air-conditioner, therefore it's quite hot. Cutlery hasn't been changed after the appetizer, we had to use the same fork and knife for the main course, which isn't a huge a deal but definitely not a high-end experience. Overall the main courses were delicious but we wouldn't...
