For those in Malang craving the genuine flavors of Indian and Pakistani cuisine, Indian Resto stands out as the sole contender delivering a taste that comes closest to authentic. While the environment is decidedly basic, prioritizing function over frills, this restaurant focuses on providing a satisfying and reasonably priced meal.
The biryani, a staple, is decent but perhaps not the star of the show. It leans more towards separate spiced rice served with your choice of meat cooked separately, rather than the deeply layered and integrated biryani many might expect.
However, where Indian Resto truly shines is with its kebabs. Prepared fresh and served warm straight from the tandoor visible outside. The accompanying nans and chapatis are excellent, the restaurant also offers a few platters, which seem to be a good way to sample a variety of their specialties.
Portion sizes here are generous, with the amount of food being ample. Their thalis also offer good value, providing a satisfying combination of dishes that are both good in taste and portion size.
For those with a sweet tooth, they have a few classic Indian desserts on offer, including kheer, kulfi, and gulab jamun. The pani puri is a welcome addition for street food enthusiasts, although the portion size was notably small.
In terms of atmosphere, don't expect anything fancy. The environment is very basic, clearly geared towards a straightforward meal rather than a lingering dining experience.
The price point is decent and within a reasonable range, making it an accessible option for those seeking authentic flavors without breaking the bank. It's also worth noting that they offer catering and take-away orders, making their food accessible for various occasions.
In conclusion, if you're in Malang and your priority is the genuine taste of Indian and Pakistani food, Indian Resto is a...
Read moreI was super excited when they opened a new branch near, I went right away, and it opened. I used to order through online app at the old store, and this is the first time ordering directly to the store, but I guess different store branches, different services. It usually takes overall 20-30 minutes to be ordered through online apps until the food arrives, and the food is always still steaming, packed well, and came in correctly. This is my review of disappointment from their newest store.
Atmosphere: Layout was good, but it was so hot. There was only a single fan for the whole room, it's cooler outside than inside the store.
Staff : Not so friendly. Idk. Maybe she just had a bad day, but it's not a good first impression as the store just opened.
Service and waiting time : IT WAS SO LONG. I only ordered 2 things, cheese naan and paratha curry but the wait time was about 40 minutes AND IT WAS NOT CROWDED, I was the only customer along with other family but they've got their order already.. Like, what take them so long ??? And they're not moving swiftly either.. We literally left twice to go out and buy something else only to come back to them saying that our order isn't ready yet.
Food : Packed well, good as always. They have many options in their menu, but based on my experience, online and offline ordering, they always say some certain food is not available. IF THEY ARE ALWAYS UNAVAILABLE THEN WHY DO YOU PUT THEM ON THE MENU.
I don't know if I am going to reorder if the service is still the same. I probably will just order through the online food app to avoid long waiting, and I could do something else while waiting for the food. Plus, I don't have to wait in...
Read moreFood was okay I guess. But can't possibly call that Indian food and call The restaurant Indian Resto. 😂😂😂 Such a shame. The dishes were lacking flavours.. Yes we did finish our dishes everything as we were hungry and tired after a long trip.
Just saw a few of the negative comments & i agree with them on the food and the service.
As we were parking our scooter, we noticed the staff looking at us weirdly and laughing "mockingly". Also felt that they were rude and condescending while ordering food. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as one of them (the cleaner) told us that he mistook us for another couple (that he met in his dreams?, didn't quite understand what he said honestly...). Maybe he had a bad experience with the other couple ?
EDIT TO REPLY TO THE OWNER : Thanks for your reply. As for the dishes, i was talking about flavours not the spiciness (lots of non-spicy indian dishes out there). Can't possibly call yellow rice and a piece of unflavored mutton on top a Mutton Biriyani. I've eaten in some very good indian...
