It was a cloudy friday evening when I got here with my girlfriend.
At the first glance, it looked just like any old regular restaurant, with cars parked right in front of the place, lots of foliages and a pretty tight space for motorcycles to park.
I ended up parking at a guest house right across the establishment, no big deal I suppose.
So I went in. It was empty. Me and my girlfriend are the first to come for the dinner service, a nice waiter welcomed us and took us for a table for two, right near a pillar in the middle of the room.
The waiter's mannerisms are spot on. Very polite and accommodating.
He gave us one menu each, and left us to choose our food. I was confused as I know nothing about pastas.
But hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
So I figured 'carbonara seems nice, heard about this pasta a lot' and my gf proceeded to choose pesto pasta with smoked beef topping.
And. It. Was. Heavenly.
Granted I know nothing about pastas. But it was delicious! I never ate any authentic italian food before, with an authentic italian chef's recipe, inside an italian restaurant. I ate lots and lots of pasta, but with store bought sauce and basically no recipes to guide me. But this is different.
The pasta, I think it's homemade? Somehow I got this impression from the texture and how the sauce sticks to it. It's not overcooked, nor undercooked, it's al dente. It's just right.
The sauce, oh God the sauce. So creamy and rich. I don't really know whether they use Pecorino Romano or just Parmesan, but the cheesiness is different. It's not overwhelming, yet it's still prominent enough to be noticeable.
The combination of the two is so beautiful, so natural, so right. It's dancing with excitement with every bite that I took.
This menu, and this menu alone is enough to make me fall in love with the whole establishment.
Can't really say anything for the pesto pasta, because it's at the girlfriend's side of the table, but it looks appetizing, looking forward to try those.
Okay this review is getting a little bit too long.
I will definitely come back for...
Read moreAbsolutely authentic and delectable Italian food. Not had such amazing Italian food in all our places of travel (except for Italy as not been there) but this place actually lived up to all its google reviews:) Lasagna was absolutely delicious....the cheese was just amazing. Gnocchi al formaggi bechamel sauce was just divine. Pizza vegetariana was the best Iv had. Capri (mojito) and bunga bunga (mix fruit mojito) were amazingly refreshing Tiramisu and creme caramel were spot on. Giuseppe the owner took the time to come out to greet us and tell us about his journey in Malang. He introduced us to his wife Maria:) He loves to sing at his restaurant.....all Javanese love their karaoke. I was a big fan of Roberto Baggio (Italy team football player) mentioned this to Giuseppe and low and behold he showed me a signed authentic framed tshirt he has of Roberto hanging on the wall inside the restaurant with a current picture of him. This just made my day. Absolutely loved this place. Giuseppe was kind enough to give us some complimentary icecream after our conversation. The complimentary bruschetta starters were also really good
Highly highly recommend it as a must go...

🍽️ F&B (+) Lasagne alla Genovese is my favorite, the pesto tastes fresh and natural, super refreshing! (+) Gnocchi al Pomodoro is perfect for tomato sauce lovers. The sauce is rich, with a mix of thick tomato paste and real tomato chunks. The gnocchi has a unique texture, it actually reminds me of Indonesian cilok! (+) Tiramisu was delicious, made with two layers of soft, spongey ladyfingers. The cream is light, and the espresso flavor really shines through, top notch!
💁 Service (+) Staff were polite and helpful. (+) No queue during my visit. Food was served in about 10 minutes. (+) Payment options: cash and cashless available.
🅿️ Facilities (+) The menu book has a vintage look but is still charming and clear. (+) Free parking available, spacious enough for both cars and motorbikes. (+) The interior is clean, aesthetic, and gives off cozy Italian home vibes. (+) Availabilities: toilet and mushola.
