Update: Now they use QR Code that customers can scan this QR Code to order. First, you scan the QR Code to get the menu, then you choose your food. When finish choosing you food, then hit "confirm" button. Then appear your order along with the price.

Pros: Effective and efficient Cons: System does not always function very well, that slow your food order process. I myself, prefer the old-fashioned style, much more convenience.

Feel like eating out in a Guangdong or Hongkong Dimsum Restaurant

I'm lucky, that I had ever lived in Guangzhou 4 years, and Shanghai, more than 4 years. These are two charming cities in China. There, I had been to various Chinese Restaurant, be it Hunan, Sichuan, Hainan, Hangzhou, Dongbei (东北), Guangdong, Lanzhou (兰州) etc.

I love Chinese food. Epecially to Guangdong or Hongkong style dimsum, I am a regular visitor of dimsum restaurant. I almost spent my every weekend with my family, eating out at dimsum restaurant. Guangdong or Hongkong people, usually call it 早茶(zaochal). As such, I have sufficient memory about the original taste of dimsum.

Back to our business, the taste of food at Imperial Kitchen in AEON Mall BSD, is comparable to that of the original taste back there in Guangdong or Hongkong Restaurant in Guangdong, China. The different is, the food in Imperial Kitchen are Halal food (according to the restaurant's waitress), which exclude pork and its byproducts in its menus. It means, it is safe for moslem people to dine-out in this restaurant.

There are tens of menus that you can order. The menu book is equipped with picture that will make it easier for you to imagine the appearance of the food, and to choose which food you want to order.

The waitress are also friendly, helpful and dynamic in their appearance, just like their peer in cities in China. Every table is equipped with button to call waitress, as well to settle the bill. That way, you do not need to scream to call the waitress for help.

The price is medium. I usually spent between Rp.300.000,- to. Rp.370.000,- (including tax) for my family with 3 people, with 8-9 menus.

This place is one of my family's favourite restaurant. We love every food we have ever ordered here. We never complained for the service before, but today, I have to say, this place is seriously need more staffs. We was visiting this place on Saturday, around 1pm, and we was have some leftover foods that need to be taken home, one of them was a set menu that have some side dishes, then I asking to one of the staff (she's in white and black btw, I don't know, maybe she's on her first day, or on her probation, or whatever), then she taken away some of the leftover food plates (not all of them, becase it was too many to be taken in one time by herself) to be prepared for taking home, and when she came back, she already prepared them, then I asking her to also take the rest (it was two plates of the side dishes), and she said "sorry sir, we're currently really busy", then she's going away. I was not expecting that answer and really upset because of that. Sorry for complaining, but despite of she was in white and black and really busy, in my opinion, she can't say that to the customer, it's okay for me to wait a bit longer becuse I'm aware that she was really busy at that time, but really, you shouldn't reject your customer. The food here falls short of anything “imperial,” despite the name. When we visited, several dim sum options were unavailable, which was disappointing. One of the main dishes we ordered were overly oily, making the meal feel heavy and not particularly enjoyable.

Service also left much to be desired—the staff seemed a bit inattentive. For example, they forgot to bring us cutlery, and we had to ask for it, which isn’t something you’d expect at a proper dining establishment.

Overall, this place was underwhelming, and I’d suggest not expecting too much if you decide to dine here. Personally, I’ll likely skip this place the next time I’m at Aeon Mall...
